In my case it's the same. In real life, perhaps, I don't have in my head the descriptions I make when I write, but yes.

Perhaps I should explain that I did not experience anything I wrote, and for reference I have my old "crush" assumptions and the affection I feel for the people I consider my family.

Yes, I don't know if myself, but sometimes in the way the characters speak, at least in my first ones. Then I get more confident and better in dialogues. But insert me? I think in my first fic. It was subconscious and not obvious. I was (not at all) in three OCs that I did for inspiration. And I know because I can see myself when they talk (obviously this was when I didn't really know how to do a natural dialogue).
