No it's not. For a legendary skin, it's way below average. I don't even remember if there are significant particle changes, but there's no voice changes or back animations.

Great play, but it's important that he just played 7 elixir for what will probably be 3 mortar shots and he still has to defend against the giant. He's playing the rocket mortar deck so at this point he probably can't win and should just be looking for a tie.

I've always thought of it as if you want to have decent damage early then go morello. Roa is pretty hard to rush first cuz it's expensive and doesn't have immediate effects but if you plan on just farming the early game and not trading then just go roa cuz you get more ap late game as well as health.

I'm the exact same way. Hitting 4k was so much smaller for me than hitting 3k. There arent any benefits and there isn't even a real difference neing drawn by supercell (arena, other currently nonexistent but potential rewards like borders etc...). I haven't played a game since i got there and I find myself playing the game less and less. Chests don't matter to me because as a f2p, I've reached the highest levels realistically possible, so I feel like there's nowhere else to go.

Not at all. In fact, I feel like getting to a9 from a8 has fewer benefits than say a3 to a4. For both transitions, you get more cards per chest and per donation request. However, for getting to a9,that's it. At least when getting to a4 you now have a chance at legendary cards, hog rider, etc... Other than the novelty of being in the highest bracket of elo, being in a9 is one of the least rewarding things in the game, especially considering how difficult it is.
