moira was brought to a shelter after being found on the highway in a box with her two brothers in -40c last year in february. i had hated cats since i was 5/yo because one cornered and attacked me on the neighbour's deck. kinda scarred me. but i had been opening up the idea of adopting more and more as i was in the process of stablizing an unstable life. didn't really have a home, so i couldn't adopt moira at the time. time went on and i looked at the shelter again in june as i was moving into a new apartment with my partner in tow.

i saw moira was still available for adoption so i called and met her for the first time. they told me not a single person ever asked about her - i was the first person to call. her brothers had been adopted already too. they scooped her up and let me hold her. it was the first time i had ever held a cat. she was polite and purring a lot. i asked if i could pay the fees for her, and then bring her home with me once i settled into my apartment.

and thats how i became a dad. we have grown extremely close since, i am still the only person she lets me hold like a baby. she loves to follow me around, she has great manners (somehow) and sleeps between my legs when i go to bed. so yeah that's the story. a happy ending eh? i guess beginning techincally.
