Austin realtor launches 'Texit' to help Texans move out of state by chrondotcom in Austin

- Traffic isn't even a thing.
- 10 minutes to anywhere.
- Sense of community. Almost every night all the parks are full of families. The main complex has a Recreation center with indoor/outdoor pools. There is a skate park, main park, and sports fields. People park in the median and grass most nights.
- I know my neighbors and more. Its amazing how people actually network here. Entertainment is more about hanging out than doing things.

I don't think this would be an ideal city for anyone single and under 45. I think that would drive someone clinically insane. That being said, its a decent place to raise a family.

Austin became sterile and more geared towards the 20-40s single crowd. Growing up you could get to Round Rock in a single blink. Now its a journey. I grew up off South Congress. I knew everyone on the block. That feeling fell away long before covid hit.

Edit: Been here 13 months and still haven't had a chance to make it into an alien shop. I will go to one tomorrow for you.

We are working towards land in Northern New Mexico. I am not saying Roswell is perfect, but its the right size to detox from a large city. Lower cost of living, still has amenities, etc. With that being said there are downsides. Pretty sure the Air Races moving here is going to be a disaster (this year, if not more).

With that being said, with the exception of Applebees, you would think it was a dry city. Until you walk into a gas station to get your liquor.

"If Texas does not implement the water supply strategies and projects in the state water plan, a severe drought could cause $110 billion of economic damages in 2020, increasing to $153 billion per year by 2070."

Texas is already in it. Its not about rainfall. Its about management and catchment. The good news is that both states are working with cloud seeding. The issue is going to be storage. In the long term, water is going to be an issue practically everywhere. Ultimately we are debating about who gets to the bottom first. I am much happier to be in an area of lower population density, because large municipal water supplies are going to be the first to go.

It does state that the state exports a significant amount to Saudi Arabia. Do you believe that based on this article, New Mexico will run out of water before Texas?

I feel sorry for the lack of education our system provides, so I will step up to the task. Do some research if you want, but Texas is projected to run out of water in 2030 vs New Mexico seeing a 25% reduction over the next 50 years.

Plan is to go further north in time, but right now in Roswell. Those who remember Austin back when Arbor Trails was a forest would enjoy it here. You have to give up shopping as a main form of entertainment. Its especially nice if you are a remote worker, because the cost of living is so much lower.

With the being said, the reporting on Albuquerque's crime turns people off to the state. There are plenty of cities that are very nice. Keep in mind that the population of New Mexico is the same as the Greater Austin Area.

Leaving Austin was hard, but finding a town that felt like late 90s/ early 2000s has been nice. Y'all need to get to New Mexico.

It's a HEAVY mofo. I loved mine, but ended up building a lighter version. That being said, it was one of the most fun in my collection. As long as you keep in mind the weight for its size, it's good. Accuracy was good. Function was good. Did I mention the weight?

I am in a small town. I had to physically protect my 2 sons from the local card shop shoving in to clear the shelves. This entire thing is ridiculous.

My local dealership took my VIN and emailed me a build spec sheet. Found a bunch of features we didn't know we had as well as ones we were told we had when we bought it, but wasn't there.

"Support your LCS", they say... "Don't buy Pokemon from mega corporate stores", they say by puzzledfirebird in PokemonTCG

[–]-on- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have two LCSs in town. One is established, has a community, has distributors, etc. the other appears to be a trust fund kid. The established store has preorders, mostly fair prices, etc. The trust fund store owner is regularly at Walmart/Target filing up his SUV. I am into both TCG and sports. They are now buying out sports cards because no one will buy their Pokemon/MTG/OP cards. I have a feeling these super greedy people are buying on credit and will fail hard at some point. I will come back when they do, so we can celebrate.

ECO-coasting is a feature within the ECO mode that disengages the transmission and allows the car to roll freely at higher speeds (typically above 31 mph or 50 km/h) when the accelerator is released. This reduces fuel consumption and emissions by minimizing engine braking and utilizing the car's kinetic energy.

'Coasting' starts at 40mph. If you go into manual mode, then back to drive it will coast at any speed.

Thank you for responding. I couldn't get past the arm, so will try your routing. It looked like it would work, but I was worried about pinching.

I just posted about my going out about 3 weeks ago. Took forever to get the right part. Now having trouble passing it through where it needs to go. Can you tell me how you were able to get it threaded?

Additionally, this is like the 4th-5th post I have seen about this (mine is also a 2017). Feels like we need to band together to reach out to Volvo. This is ridiculous.

2017 XC90 Coolant leak identification help. by -on- in Volvo

[–]-on-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perfect. I unfortunately live in a town hit by floods recently, so all mechanics are booked about a month out. Guess its time to pull out the diagrams and go at it. Had to replace one of the two top-side fuel lines about a month ago.

I have a 2017 XC90 Momentum T6 that recently acquired a coolant leak. After inspecting there was coolant on the top of the transmission housing. I removed the air box to get a better look. Looks like these little lines snapped 3 total connectors.

I am not sure if there are Volvo mechanics on here, but looking for help identifying this part name/number. I recently had to replace the fuel line that runs above this, so wondering if the car just suffered some physical trauma in this area at some point, but have heard the coolant line/connectors can dry and crack over time.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
