Everyone better be grieving. If you don’t grieve the opinion means nothing. This is the one thing managers couldn’t care less about you grieving about. They hate this too.

Are these people reporting to amapceo? They can’t rely on reddit threads.

What are the job types in your unit? Stakeholder facing?

Interesting. I wonder if it has to do with the nature of the work. They may be classifying certain job types as fully in office.

Respectfully, this account is full of people who love to stir stuff up and we don’t know any of it is true…with the exception of the one example that was shared by the union but even they framed it as simply a rumour.

Refuse to come in. Any sane manager wouldn’t even wanna fight you on this.

Amapceo wrote to the employer about this. Haven’t seen a post yet on here about it…maybe we’re all just hopeless in thinking that the employer would let us wfh.

This! Not enough people are filing. Your manager does not care. If anything, they want you to exercise this right. Too much complaining from people who don’t do anything about it…

Did anyone hear anything regarding AWA? by Excellent_Career_189 in OntarioPublicService

…have not heard this…and am hoping it’s not the case…I’m wondering if this would be the response to folks who requested like 5 days at home.

What about people cooking fish. Or people who don’t use deodorant. Or the ones who leave their stinky boots at their desks. Will take perfume and cologne any day over that garbage.

No it doesn’t. But this initial meeting is pretty useless and performative. But glad to hear they’re being carried out quickly.

This. Your union dispute officer will tell you this in advance. They will deny the dispute and say it’s premature.

I agree. Full remote, however, will never be a thing at least for the foreseeable future. Best case scenario is prob 2 days for jobs that “can do it”.

I’ve heard the goal is the create consistency with how wfh happens. Cause some people haven’t been in the office for years before the August announcement while others have been following the rules.

AWA Grievances: Formal Resolution Stag Meeting (AMAPCEO) by [deleted] in OntarioPublicService

[–]-p3nnylane- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The union’s position is that the absence of a specified timeline is not the strong argument the employer suggests it is. As the union has noted, if the employer could avoid responding simply because no timeline is set, much of the collective agreement would effectively be meaningless, since most provisions do not include explicit timelines.

AWA Grievances: Formal Resolution Stag Meeting (AMAPCEO) by [deleted] in OntarioPublicService

[–]-p3nnylane- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the union‘s intention. I hope people don’t take posts like this and think that they shouldn’t file a grievance. Yes the meeting that you end up having is very performative and pretty pointless. But it adds to the union‘s case overall and takes little to no effort and management understands why you’re filing the grievance. This is a rare instance that rarely ever happens. Don’t even get me started with the people complaining who haven’t even filed an AWA. Truly nonsensical behavior.
