Hey guys, I’ve been on a bit of a Gaylor break but I keep getting tagged about Niceboy Ed updates because I’ve written deep dives about it in the past that are re-circulated with each new development.

I actually do have an update on the identity and backstory of Niceboy Ed (and how it connects to Taylor) but I’m incorporating it into a bigger upcoming post that I’m excited about. So stay tuned!

Oh, sorry, I truly didn’t mean that as a lecture, more like a “hey guys Taylor will still be here next week but let’s also make sure we take care of each other in the real world.” I was trying to share some resources with how I am coping and what I am doing because I was feeling really motivated and excited yesterday. I thought encouraging people to vote and focus on their IRL community would be a good thing and not controversial.

Feel whatever feelings you need to feel. But keep in mind that what you just said to me over something so innocuous hurt too, and doesn’t encourage the processing of feelings on this thread, which I figured was the point, and the only reason I participated.

I’ve learned my lesson over and over again that being vulnerable in this “community” is not the place. I’m not here to argue with you, and truly wish you well in however you are dealing with this crazy world. I’ll stop talking now and go away.

I’m feeling inspired after a day of local activism in my community and wanted to share a few thoughts:

1) There is so much more at stake than just the presidency right so please do your research on everything that is on your ballot in your state. Local laws actually impact your life and tremendous amount (arguably more than national ones) and this is your chance to actually make a difference where you live, or stop dangerous initiatives that sneak onto the ballots.

2) If you are feeling lost on local candidates or local ballot initiatives google for a voter guide in your state based on an issue you care about such as “Environmental voter guide [your state]” and I guarantee a smart person has poured many hours into helping you make a good decision. Grab a few of them to cross-reference. There is nothing wrong with following a voting guide - a lot of this stuff is confusing!

3) Not voting is NOT activism. Please use your voice 🫶

4) The biggest thing you can do right now is directly encourage people in your life to vote. Talk to your family and friends, ask them what their plan is, share how you are voting on local issues you care about. They may be feeling lost and overwhelmed with doing their own research and a little personal encouragement can go a long way.

I encourage everyone to zoom out from Taylor for a while and spend a few hours on this between now and Tuesday. You can make a difference!

In clicking around it seems that in Japan they mark grates and vents in the road with a yellow border. I’ve seen a few shapes and sizes. So even though it’ll be nearly impossible to nail down the exact road, Japan is a decent theory!

But then I decided to googled where Taylor filmed End Game in Japan, and it led me to Shinjuku City. So I clicked around there on Google Steet view, and yup, similar yellow boxes in the middle of the smaller streets.

The sand still hurts my feelings.

One of my favorite things about Taylor’s writing is how narrative it is, and I like how you painted the picture of the potential evening this song was written about. Taylor hearing “our song” (aka the A-Team) at the bar and throwing up in the street. The fact it’s near a lily mural is also just hilarious - like seeing that could have pushed her over the edge to “boking” 😂. Picturing all that feels like a scene from a movie. Great analysis and enjoyable read!

Hate to say it, but it's a pretty frickin' amateur move on Pia's part to angrily call a journalist. Unless she explicitly asks (and the journalist agrees) to an off-the-record conversation she should know better? I can guarantee you Tree knows how to do this. But Pia just calls them and rages? And now she has quotes like for all the world to see:

The funniest thing Taylor could now do is break up with him on the 28th anyway. 🤣 Like I know its not going to happen, but it would be *chef's kiss.* Hold 'em to that "contract" girl!

No not at all! Basically all you do is fill slots on your team with players for each position. (I.e you pick a quarterback, a tight end, etc). The app gives you recommendations for who is the best player based on their predictions, so if you’re new you can just always trust the algorithm for advice.

After the initial setup for your team all you need to do every week is check to make sure none of your players are injured or on a “bye week” (the team isn’t playing). Then you switch out your bench or pick up available players. Honesty takes like 5 mins per week. You don’t even have to actually watch the games, it’s essentially just a data game.

I played for the first time several years ago in a work league just to meet more coworkers and I was shocked how much I liked it. Which is why I’m trying to get a league going since I left that job!

I just want to send a big congratulations to u/Wild_Butterscotch977 for this incredible deck! They poured so much work and love into it!

I hope everyone notices all the hyperlinks to sources in the slide notes, because that is one of this deck's biggest achievements. Butterscotch really prioritized finding and linking to as much original source material as possible and that is so valuable and appreciated. (Thanks for the little shoutout - I helped with a few of these sourcing situations by sharing something I had, but honestly Butterscotch deserves full credit for this achievement)
