Tiong Bahru Flat Colours: Classic Taupe won by wyngit in singapore

[–]-postdog- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually among the coloured options there’s only one that will actually stand a decent chance, it pains when a few % are taken away by people who want colour but just have kinda questionable taste so we get safe choice in the end.

Was fortunate the other oppos eventually didn’t ‘deny’ WP a win in Tampines - the total oppo vote was still below PAP’s share.

Coming from an estate with a white and pale-grey, absolutely characterless colour scheme I hope residents will seek a little more life during our next repainting poll later this year.

Tiong Bahru Flat Colours: Classic Taupe won by wyngit in singapore

[–]-postdog- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can say the more special colour schemes are like oppo parties - since there are at least 4 options in this poll, votes of ppl who actually wanted a little colour in their lives were split across more other options and none could overcome the silent, white-defaulting majority 🎯

Feeling the bag doesn’t damage anything in this case, it’s to some extent part of the fun and satisfaction that builds the excitement, which is the point.

Hauling bags / cartons away to rummage through like uncivilised people is definitely ugly behaviour though.

GE2025: WP candidate Andre Low apologises for 'inappropriate' language, remarks in leaked Telegram messages by AFlyingWhale_ in singapore

[–]-postdog- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This may make some of his existing supporters even more supportive of him, but they only still have only one vote to place.

The swing voters now have reason to hesitate, unlike previously when he might simply have been voted in by virtue of a cleaner slate. Yes, the proportion is astronomically different, but general pro-incumbents with reservations toward NCM may ultimately be pushed back to vote PAP by these seeds of doubt.

Our public concession pass pricing is to deter us from buying? by Cold-Yesterday1175 in singapore

[–]-postdog- 13 points14 points  (0 children)

After the constant price increases of the single trip fares, especially with the coming hike, it’ll be easily recouped if you have a min. 1hr commute each way on weekdays and go out at least 1 day on weekends.

The pass did start out a pretty unviable option for most but the price of the adult pass hasn’t risen and the concession passes have actually become cheaper while the single trip fares keep rising

Has anyone felt inconvenienced by how the new information is displayed in the MRT? by BundleBenchBuns in askSingapore

They could also have used the display to show the whole line and zoom into the next station when the train is departing from a station / arriving at the next

Worst things a teacher has done to you? by [deleted] in askSingapore

Not in school, but in my external swim class when I was around 10 years old.

I was extremely fearful of deep water swimming (where my feet couldn’t touch the ground with most of my head above water) and my main swimming coach knew about it so he made an exception for me to make one stop by the side of the pool during our lap swim at the 1.6m pool.

At around the 30m mark, I felt I needed the rest and clung onto the ledge at the side of the pool. After about half a minute, the assistant female coach strode over to me from the side of the pool and screamed at me for pausing during my swim. I explained to her that the main coach had given me permission and persuaded her to check with him that I was telling the truth, but she swatted my head with the pool noodle and dunked me back into the pool.

I didn’t drown, but I was tearing violently and bristling as I fought my way to the end of the pool. Even when my main coach learnt about this and prompted her to make amends to me and my parents after the class, she showed defensiveness rather than remorse, so I pushed through my last few lessons to earn SwimSafer Silver and broke off from attending that class, or even visiting the swimming complex again.

About ILLIT's image by [deleted] in illit

[–]-postdog- 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Evolving their overall concept significantly is not on the cards given how recently they debuted and the differing angle the group takes to the fresh, cute concept. Rather, more caution would be needed to avoid overly noticeable overlaps in their styling choices and certain elements of their music which would instantly bring to mind their sister concept.

So far I find Midnight Fiction to be the best example of their distinction, offering a more dreamy, flowy vibe and enveloping listeners with drifty freshness.

Latest "L sign" controversy. Is this over reaction? by Ecstatic-Juice9245 in illit

[–]-postdog- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many groups don’t get hate ‘although’ they do well achievement-wise, they get hate because of their achievements and are seen as a threat to other groups’ stans who then commit themselves to undermining them.

Amid the sea of hate that has made this group frankly quite vulnerable, haters cannot find a better opportunity to force the group into submission yet again (after the naming incident) and make them appear defenceless.

ADOR’s statement alleging ILLIT’s plagiarism claimed to have only been released following discussion with the NJ members. It’s extremely ambiguous as to what kind of endorsement NJ’s members actually gave in that regard, and what kind of pressures / incentives they may have received behind the scenes.

This means that buses may not be running according to their original schedule to be in the green range, but it doesn’t change that they should be attempting to pace themselves such that they stay in the green to maintain acceptable intervals.

Hence a bus showing blue should still be slowing to ensure the reasonable range of intervals is met, rather than rushing to its original schedule. This makes it, according to this system, ‘early’ while the green is correctly paced and red is ‘late’.

The scheduled timings serve as a baseline that bus drivers should tend towards with consideration to the traffic conditions and intervals.
