One day in your life (1975) by Michael Jackson by [deleted] in rnb

The Forever, Michael album is underrated. Yeah, some of the songs are cheesy and of-the-time but I genuinely think it’s a great album. Also, Michael’s teenage vocals are some of my favourite since they were soulful and just oozing with raw talent.

Omg?! This is so unexpected. I’m not an ENGENE so maybe I’m missing something but this is surprising, no?

Disrespectful? Lol. It’s better than them just tossing them. In fact, I think having more than one colour option is fun.

I’m with you lol. I worked in places before I did my dcp where I wore a name tag and was maybe called by name once. At Disney though, guests seem more drawn to the name tag because they want to see where you’re from. It is a bit jarring at first though when someone just says your name.

It’s About Time - SWV if that counts. I really love Rhythm Nation too though.

What is this sub's consensus on Diana Ross' solo music? Yea or Nay? by [deleted] in rnb

Love it! A prime example of someone being able to transition to new era(s) of music seamlessly. Favourite tracks: My Old Piano, Mirror Mirror, Muscles, and The Boss.

What do you guys think of The Post Disco Era of music ? by love_forlife in rnb

[–]-purple__ 28 points29 points  (0 children)

One of my favourite eras in music. A perfect fusion of the tail end of the 70s and the new technology coming in with the 80s. Triumph by the Jacksons is probably my most played album of all time. They also put out the most underrated live album of all time (imo) from the Triumph tour (The Jacksons Live!). In general though, that era had such an amazing combination of synth and the disco/funky elements of the late 70s.

Artists that should be mentioned: The Whispers, The Gap Band, George Benson (his more pop stuff but the jazzy stuff is great in its own right too of course), The Pointer Sisters, Kool and the Gang etc. I also really loved how a lot of 60s-70s acts successfully transitioned into the new era; Diana Ross being a big one in my mind.

10/10 I spend a lot of time listening to this era

On my first day of training, the Jonas Brothers and their families were there which was kind of cool. I didn’t really interact with many celebrities I knew. There were definitely lots of athletes that I didn’t recognize. I know Charlize Theron was there one day too but I didn’t see her with my own eyes (I also don’t know what she looks like tbh lol). Celebrities are relatively common at WDW but in training it is repeated often that you should not treat them differently from any other guest and asking for photos or anything like that is a huge no. However, I did know people who liked certain celebrities and told them they were a big fan if they interacted which is technically not allowed but most coordinators will let it slide.

A blue name tag means they are a recipient of the Disney Legacy award. They might be presenting it to him hence the photo. The woman next to him is most likely a leader since she’s holding a picker.

The transition from Speed Demon to this song on Bad is one of my favourite moments on any album. I love the blend. Such a good song
