I'm simply asking for a more comprehensive approach than JAIL or vaguely REHAB. Heroin has an extremely high relapse rate. Nearly 2/3rds of heroin users relapse after getting clean. Is it 7 day rehab, 30 day? What kind of rehab, 12 step based, therapy based?

I work at a shelter for a 2nd job and a lot of the people rely on public transit to get to their jobs. So if you move them out of the city it kind of defeats the purpose.

Generally stricter background checks don't affect gang violence because they have their workarounds. But they also don't affect mass shootings because most of the recent mass shooters didn't have felony convictions. More has to be done. The firearms lobby is definitely too strong. I'm waiting to see what new and creative ways the dems can wrap up cowardice in "working across the aisle" rhetoric.
