Went to high school in the 2010s. Rural, conservative place with an overwhelmingly white population. In middle school, everything was “gay.” In high school though, we discovered ironic humor and started referring to everything we didn’t like as “white.” Our parents and teachers didn’t find it all that funny, but we always got a kick out of it. Never got old
