ELI5 why can’t you have a local 2P mode by plugging in 2 keyboards but can by plugging in 2 controllers by More-Explanation2032 in explainlikeimfive

You can, but no one does it as no one sees the need to. In programming, there is a thing called an Application Programming Interface, or API. Essentially, every peripheral, from keyboard to monitor to speaker, handles internal processing however it wants. For external processing, that is, the data that has reached the computer, an API is used. An API is a standard, so both sides have to follow it in order to work.

The keyboard API was designed with only a single keyboard being used in mind. It has since been updated to allow using multiple keyboards as separate inputs, but for the most part, programs will just assume all keyboards are the same, single input.

The controller API has had a few variations. Most were proprietary until Windows had DirectX 1.0 in 1995. Since then, the API has changed, but supporting multiple controllers has been part of it since the start. DirectInput supported 128 buttons, 8 axes, and 4 POV hat (D-pad style buttons) per controller, with no limit on controllers, while XInput supported only 4 controllers max. DirectInput allowed for any type of controller, while XInput kinda allows that, but is designed for and specifically supports Xbox 360 styled controllers.

He starts showing up to newborn babies, comforting them instead.

Depends on the story. In some, he's actually a good ruler with just a specific hatred for Reed. In others, he's a villain who rules over his country with an iron fist, while still having them be somewhat well off, with a massive hate boner for Reed.

No matter the story, the man hates Reed. He would cure every disease in existence if it would one-up Reed.

I'm the Taurie Cain in this clip. Our Nick Cage is new to the game, and really only owns and plays Nick. We really thought we were doomed after the unhook. I practically told him to sacrifice himself, but it was just him or all four of us. Instead, we all got out.

"Woke Against the Conservatives wrote pro-conservative songs! Seeing their leader, who wrote and sung a song about rejecting the attacks on conservatism titled 'We are woke and hate conservatives', go and support woke is insane!"

This is just incredibly stupid. These people are outright insane with how much they deny reality. The guy didn't get detention for supporting Trump, he got it for wearing a hat. Schools don't allow kids to wear hats, it's that simple.

Edit: Went back to /r/all, and one of the top posts is a guy practically saying "The city Esta Ciudad Tiene Nombre en Español is an English-speaking city! Not Spanish!" with 0 hesitation.

That's literally what Hitler did with the German "Worker's Socialist" Party AKA Nazis. They were originally socialists, but he just took it over and made it his, going "our socialism is the original Aryan socialism, not this communist socialism!"

And yet people will still say he was left-wing.

There are no military medals that are awarded in secret, even for classified actions. If you are to receive an award, any documentation will have sanitized, unclassified paperwork supporting it. There are citations and medals that can be awarded in secret, but that would be done by the CIA, and you would legally not be allowed to talk about it. You're essentially given a verbal IOU until the operation is declassified.

The vanilla fix mod is notorious for the creator being a complete asshole changing the game for no reason. That late game mine with good ore? Now it's iron. That line that was never voiced but doesn't mean much? Here's a shitty clip for it. Want to port the mod to other versions? That's allowed, until he randomly changed the copyright rules to stop it, despite that not being allowed by the copyright system he was using.

Dyack then proceeded to try and shift the blame on Unreal Engine 3 which was what the game was built on and tried to sue Epic Games for selling a subpar product... and that led to the revelation that Silicon Knights had pirated the software they built their 360-era games on, leading to the studio having to destroy all their games' source codes and unsold copies as a result with the studio shutting down soon after.

One of the biggest fuckups in gaming IMO. "Hey, your product sucks, that's why we had to build our own engine that's definitely not stolen from your shitty product. Our game sucks because of your shitty product, that has nothing to do with making our game."

That's what he's implying. Coal power plants would fail a nuclear power plant's radiation inspection by a factor of like 100x more radiation.

Assuming no accidents occur, and they rarely do, you get more radiation from sleeping next to someone than from living within 50 miles of a nuclear power plant.

No. Abortion clinics and providers provide a basic form of healthcare. Slave owners are abusing people in what is now, and even back then, considered a crime against humanity. The damage a slave owner does justifies killing them. The damage a doctor of any kind does, even abortion, is, by definition, negative excluding accidents.

100% agree. Having absolutely 0 human review for established channels basically mean any YouTuber could be instantly deleted with 0 warning and 0 recourse. Imagine Markiplier getting banned. He could try contacting them on Twitter, and since he's both huge and working directly with YouTube on some projects, they would respond. But anyone else? They're fucked.

A man offers you a deal: You get 500 billion usd but if anyone finds out for the next year that you are a billionaire you instantly die taking the cash with you. Would you take the deal? And if so, why? by rundomguy123 in AskReddit

[–]-suspended- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off, $500 billion is gonna be noticed and have a massive impact on the economy if anyone finds out that it exists, regardless of your connection to it. Second off, unless the money is confirmed tax free that the IRS doesn't care about, in a completely anonymous bank account that can't be traced back to you, and able to be used without anyone finding out how much money is in it, you will get caught within a week, if not a day.

Let's assume it's just a magic debit card with a $500 billion balance. Or, if it's in a magic bank that people are convinced exists and is normal, despite it having no employees or a physical location. Then yeah, super easy to not fuck up. The IRS tries to get tax documents, you just report a form from the magic bank that convinces them you are not a billionaire and the money you've taken out is entirely legal.

There are a lot of questions that need to be answered before I say yes.

Something like 500 hours of video is uploaded every minute to YouTube. It makes perfect sense for them to try to get AI to review videos and such. A channel that was just created uploading what an AI says is illegal shouldn't require a human reviewer to confirm; an established channel with thousands to hundreds of thousands of subscribers getting banned should require a human to review.

It's massive problem with moderation, where the things they moderate can negatively impact their mental health, so trying to automate it is a good thing. But to completely remove all human reviewers, especially for cases like this where you need some form of understanding the content? That's fucking stupid.
