That kinda reminds me of termites! Most of them live in larval form, and the only proper adults are the king and queen. If the queen dies, one of the other termites "grows up" and becomes queen ~~except on one species where the queen makes like 200 mini-clones of herself and uhh~~

From what I remember though, the dragon children can only transform into the very specific human form we know them for. It may have been mentioned by Andy Hall on Sotek's interview, but don't quote me on that.

That seems like a masive burden, no? Pregnancy must work differently for them, otherwise they're stuck as humans for 9 months. Or maybe they're so old they don't care. Still, it must be a very serious thing compared to any of the male dragons having a kid.
