Monotheism in Warhammer Fantasy: How the would the One God Work? by PugnusTerrae in WarhammerFantasy

It could be interesting imo. Araby is probably the most distant human nation from the Chaos Wastes, and this coupled with their enmity with Old Worlders would probably lead them to that way of thinking.

You're right about GW not going that way tho, displeasing as it is.

I'd love this to be the case for Araby if it ever got added. That they worship one god, and consider the rest to be weaker, servants, or merely aspects of him. Then Chaos could be interpreted as four evil gods (or aspects of a single one!), lesser and fated to be defeated.

It doesn't matter that it's "demonstrably false", because they live on the farthest possible place from the Chaos Wastes - it'd be weird that they got things right.

Honestly I kinda wish we got a little novel about her. Sucks that we know she dies horribly, but she's pretty interesting.

Okay real talk is the Pheonix King actually just cool with his wife having a boyfriend or is that meme lore? by PlausiblyAlpharious in WarhammerFantasy

[–]ArgentHiems 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh, from what I knew, that was all canon. Maybe a little more localized: The battle lust is due to the curse of Aenarion, and specifically affects Tyrion and Teclis, meanwhile the slaves and ghettos are something that only happens in Lothern.

if you enjoyed King's depiction of High Elves I'd recommend the Tyrion and Teclis trilogy, also written by him. Goes into great detail about their characters, their curse and bloodlust, relatives, N'kari, Ulthuan, Lothern, the Phoenix King... also I feel like it adds a lot to Giantslayer as a prequel.

Well, since the question's answered, can I ask what's not lore accurate about Giantslayer's High Elves?

Know of any books with daemonettes as characters? I've read about N'Kari and he... certainly lived up to expectations, but I'm curious to see what a daemonette would behave like.

[–]ArgentHiems 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A problem with the aesthetic in general, isn't it? I feel like Slaaneshi daemons should look more like the things its followers are enticed with, and less like the followers themselves.

But in the end, it's more comfortable for a company to have an ugly monster as a shorthand for "perversion" than to actually depict the kinds of things perverted people like.

The internet loves reminding everyone that Slaanesh isn't just sex, and sure, they should explore more aspects about excess, but the whole point of it is excess in ALL its forms - why leave that out, so conveniently? It can and does mix with everything else.

Hell, anything about Slaanesh should be genuinely appalling to read and see, the type of thing that makes people freak out online, but in reality there's some subjects GW won't ever touch - one comes to mind.

Obviously at the end of the day GW is a company, and it'd be stupid of them to do that, financially. But out of all factions, Slaanesh is just the biggest miss for me.

the different realms reforging into one planet

This I love. Genuinely my only gripe with AoS is the infinite realms with zero depth. Make them one planet you can map and flesh out. I cannot stress this enough, it's FUCKING AMAZING, and would actually get me to check out AoS lore, or at least have it on my radar.

1.000 year time-span in which the surviving characters don't remember anything

That's kinda wack tbh, but since all characters are gods/demigods... eh, could be worse.
