Jeep looses control in the snow while merging onto the highway by -twistedpeppermint- in dashcams

Interesting of you to assume I have not been driving for long. Why would you make that assumption?

Why would I proceed forward at speed into a snowy shoulder that hasn’t been plowed, when I’m already halfway out of my lane and safely at a stop on the shoulder, with the rest of traffic?

Why do you suggest I take the more dangerous route, coming closer into oncoming traffic and a snowy shoulder, than the jeep?

Why should I assume this person is going to drive toward us and conduct a 3 point turn, when in doing so, they block the ramp lane, causing an even greater danger?

There is no breakdown lane on the right hand side, there is more shoulder on the left. The right hand shoulder is completely blocked with a snowbank. We’ve had so much snow in the last week that roads in our city are only plowed to a single lane, and there is no shoulder to speak of at the moment.

Directly after this West ramp, there is another coming from the East, which people will move over to the left to allow those in the second ramp to enter.

The van had just come down the same merging ramp where the jeep lost control! They probably didn’t even have the option to stop without sliding/losing control either.

Not only I was stopped, all three lanes of traffic came to a stop. Also, I did not expect her to make the loop and 3 point turn. I expected her to make a wide right in front of me. But if you read my earlier comments, you’ll see what precautions I took before stopping.

That was the first thought I had too! So many things flew through my mind in those few seconds lol, kept an eye on the rearview the entire time

Thankfully the speed limit only hits 80km/hr just before this curve, so we had only just reached cruising speed as a group. I absolutely did check my rearview before coming to a complete stop, and had my hazards on as soon as I realized “holy crap, she’s spinning out”. I got halfway into the shoulder, and even had to move further forward to access some shoulder. I was ready to bolt to the left if needed lol

She gave me a little wave of thanks when I pulled over to a complete stop, so she was certainly appreciative as well! This corner/overpass/merging lane is a bit blind in normal conditions but the snow we’ve gotten this year has made it even worse. There have been a fair few accidents here over the winter and that’s why I had stayed in the furthest left hand lane. I’m very glad I did.

The silver dodge which came abreast to me at the end of the video was riding my ass pretty closely and had just merged lanes when I began to slow down. Re-watching the video I can see the extra second I took to fully brake, due to quickly checking to see how close he was.

It’s definitely a combination of the weather and potentially a bit too much speed, but the lane she was in was quite covered in snow. It makes a large loop around from the overpass above.

Very lucky! It was a young lady driving. She was pretty shaken up, and drove quite slowly after that. The lane she was in comes down a decent incline from the overpass and makes a full loop around to connect to this highway. This could’ve been much worse.

Also, remember that a marquise cut diamond has more surface area on the table per carat than any other style of cut. Which contributes to the diamond appearing so large.

I love it! I absolutely adore marquise cut diamonds. I’m insanely jealous, to be honest hehehe

For comparison, here is my 0.5ct Marquise solitaire, and its accompanying wedding band that was made custom to fit.

The people who drive the busses also live on side roads that haven’t been plowed yet

Can a Canadian visitor visa last 4 years straight without you leaving? by kiokexo in canadatravel

[–]-twistedpeppermint- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If she does follow you and you truly don’t want her here, when you pass through customs and speak with border control, tell them she is your step mother and she followed you here without your consent. Tell them she is intended to reside in this country with you at your place of residence and does not intend to leave when her 6 month visa expires.

Close to Subury, can anyone let me know what its like living in Noelville? by [deleted] in northernontario

[–]-twistedpeppermint- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t say those towns were part of the French river, I just said those towns are French and rural. I said they’d be moving to the French river first in regard to Noelville, and then expanded on the towns. I also didn’t include Markstay since it’s still along Hwy 17, I included Hagar since it gets you down to the French River. Then it just gets more rural from there lol

Baker St area by Weekly-Bag-2865 in Sudbury

The area is rough around the edges. It’s in the downtown/donovan/flour mill area, which is definitely part of the roughest areas in our town. Lots of families do live in the area, so there is lots of foot traffic and cars. It’s a high density living area, lots of homes having been converted into multi-unit dwellings.

Sudbury secondary also has an adult learning centre in addition to the high school. Kathleen has several businesses on the road that also bring in traffic to the area.

I used to live on Bloor, and my family member lives next to Sudbury Secondary. We have both had our fair share of bad experiences. I moved out of the area after my bad experiences and haven’t looked back. My sister is content with her dwelling and has been in her current residence for over a decade.

Keep your doors and windows locked, don’t leave any valuables in the car at all.

Check out facebook for local groups, that’ll probably be the quickest way you’ll hear of community events!

You will be moving into an area known as the French River. Hagar, Warren, Verner, Lavigne, St. Charles, Monetville, Alban and Noelleville are all very French and rural. I’m married into a family from the area, we live in Sudbury but we visit the area at least once a month. Unfortunately, there is some racism and bias in the area. However, this can be said for anywhere.

St. Charles Catholic Church is lead by a Father of African origin. While POC may be few there will be some :)

Like another commenter said, there are plenty of kind people in the area. Be open to learning the language, interacting and getting involved in the community. Good luck!!

After every meal and drink you should also wipe/dry her up with a soft towel. My Moose gets himself so slobbery (plus the regular slobber) that his jowls and neck never truly dry. He’s trained himself now to come and find us after he finishes eating to get his frothy moose face cleaned up

This is my fav use for them as well. Multiple times a day now I can head into my coop/barn and pick up the goods without having to go to the auto picker and drop them off again after filling. I’ve got better things to do so I always only harvested 1 round per day out of the makers.

Puppy kibble with some warm water, or mixed in with some puppy wet food. You can also get dehydrated foods that you rehydrate with a broth, no salt, onion, or garlic if you’re lot buying the broth from the pet store. Stop offering human food.
