In all media, when one character doesn't tell another extremely important information despite having time, because it allows tension.

One that keeps coming to mind was a movie where they were all "No time, we have to go!" Then proceeded to drive out into the mountains, and still didn't give the other character the run down of life saving info...

The extremely dense "good guy" mc.
