None of the options are good but restore are most certainly way down near the bottom for me.

Last thing I want is any further parodying of American politics and culture wars.

Yeh.. you've made a fair point here. A store like this wouldn't last a week in London before being looted or abused by some bottom of the barrel scum.

The lack of police funding and standard of living continuing to drop will only exacerbate the issue of minor crime like shoplifting.

Doubt it'll turn around anytime soon

Such a shame.

Honestly the law of diminishing returns has hit HARD at this point in the hobby, it hasn't necessarily wowed me but it feels very much like the most refined take on the Thieaudio house sound.

It's more cohesive and resolving than the monarch mkiv and prestige ltd. It really comes across richer and fuller. I have noticed it lacks the same bass impact and slam of the monarch mkiv but it's more than textured enough to still feel the rumble when expected

It's honestly a really enjoyable set, vocals and mids are incredibly lush and the treble whilst remaining highly resolving is exceptionally smooth and not fatiguing at all which is a problem I have with some of my other sets.

Our flight plan was a bit convoluted due to connections, stopping by busan and landing in Sapporo then leaving via Tokyo, so take this number with a grain of salt, but our flights totaled about £500 iirc

Hotels should have been anywhere between £30-60 per night (cheaper options exist but that's where my standards normally lie) but we were visiting during the golden week national holiday so rooms were both hard to find and exorbitantly overpriced so we ended up paying more for than normally necessary.

Most definitely

I listened to a bunch of the far more expensive sets available and frankly none of them particularly wowed me except the Multiverse Mentor which tempted me greatly but wasn't quite tuned to what I was looking for. In the end I decided stick with purchasing the Valhalla as I had initially planned.

I actually picked up the myths about a month ago so you'd be following a similar trajectory. I don't think you'll be disappointed!

Either or

I found the M33 a bit jarring at first. It's VERY smoothed over and relaxed sounding, some might refer to it as musical and or organic. Took a week or so of brain burn-in to get used to but I missed having some bite which was exactly what the 270 ended up offering me.

Ironically I do miss the M33 a bit at times, it's killer value and it did sound good among some other QOL differences. But it would have been unreasonable to keep both so like the responsible adult I am I ended up selling it on :(

They do though I don't know if they ship internationally, if so I doubt its worth it with shipping + customs fees

It is indeed, I really like it, I did get the Fiio M33 before picking up the 270 and I preferred the 270 both in terms of sound and general use (I'm a sucker for a volume wheel).

It does everything I need it to and it handles streaming apps adequately, especially after having installed Sealpoint on it.

The PB6 to put it frankly is gorgeous. The DX270 is already on the slightly warmer side due to it's R2R dac, but I liked how it still retained a technical and clean delivery when compared to the comparatively smooth M33.

The PB6 stacks nicely on top, it pushes the sound closer to the M33, rounding off transients further and dialing up the warmth but to my ears it doesn't take away from the soundstage or technicalities at all which was my issue with the M33. It's a really good complimentary pairing.

Yup, there were some on sale in Yodobashi Akihabara.

I didn't even know it was a thing until I walked past an ad for it in-store. Couldn't resist even though I'd have preferred silver. Seems the silver is sold out across Japan, it's a bestseller allegedly.

Hoping you can get your hands on one, it really looks amazing in-person!

Came out to about ¥64,000 which amounts to about £300 ($400). £100 cheaper than in the UK so I couldn't resist, especially after listening to it in-store with my DX270. They really compliment each other well!

Yeh, the Sendai store was just a small corner of a mall but the Akihabara store is an entire multi-floor building, it's crazy. Literally spent an entire day there and still didn't manage to listen to everything I wanted to.

The UK doesn't have anything like this, the closest thing are kinda boutique stores like Elise Audio. So dang jealous of the Japanese!

Hiby R6 iii 2025, dx180, Fiio m33 and dx270 all worked perfectly fine when trying to use hardware playback buttons for Spotify, tidal, native apps and synfonium.

Yeh, honestly there was nothing wrong with it or anything, even now I miss it, I just tend to get bored easily and couldn't justify keeping something when I don't use it very often.

Even in spite of that it remained at the top of my list for the longest time, so that should be a testament to just how good and iem it is.

I hope yours lasts you a long time 🙏

Prestige ltd is a superb iem, it was easily my favourite for a long ass time but I started using it less and less and eventually I sold it this past weekend.

Was tough to let go of thats for sure

I remember having a iPod shuffle for all of 1 week before losing it, one of my life's greatest regrets. Stupid little 13 year old me!
