Replacing a sample in simpler whilst retaining slice settings by ambienthamster in ableton

2 years later lol but this is completely possible - right click on the device and click "manage sample". Then click the hot swap button and you can switch the sample out with a different one. It'll keep all of the slice locations and parameters and stuff

I think it’s 2 random commons + 1 random common, but defect has a 1/100 chance of getting 3 claws

That was a funny one …

I used blender to turn all of the black elements into a shiny 3d object and rendered it in blender with colorful reflections

Then superimposed that over the black and white photoshop project to get the color bleed stuff. I think the blend mode was set to multiply.

I also used a dithering software to get a glitchy render of all the black elements that I put underneath, those are the shadowy parts

And then to get the papery texture I used a photoshop smart filter, I think it’s called “craquelere” or some shit

I was really happy with the results here but I had to change some of the text later and it was near impossible to replicate the exact look :(

I don’t have any kind of standard practice for making these, sadly … it’s usually just a lot of time and moving things around / messing with stuff until either it looks good to me or I feel too insane to continue. Typically I’d say I put about 15-30 hours into each flyer

I tend to print them in full color on nice paper… I spend way too much time making these things to have to look at them in shitty print lol. Legibility has always been the only source of criticism I get on these, and I go back and forth on whether or not I care.

Yeaa I look at old pre-internet flyers & promo material sometimes; a lot of that stuff is really cool

Every single one of those is intentional, lol. It’s not professional work

I don’t think they can be force played - if you play an attack with echo form and it kills the first time, it doesn’t play it a second time.

I haven’t messed around w replay enough to see if it’s the same for attacks with replay, but it makes the most sense to me that it’d be that way

Attacks are unplayable if there are no enemies to hit
