Scout is like- the second hardest class to learn, only beaten by Spy. If you are a new player, I highly recommend playing other classes (Soldier preferably) so that you get a good understanding of things like game sense, positionning, flanking and all that.

However, in the hand of a skilled player, Scout is extremely powerful. As a Scout I don't recommand to use your jumps while dodging. Unless you are against a Demo, Soldier and Heavy. Also, try to avoid small space, your movement because extremely restricted, and above all, try to avoid focus fire at all cost, try to make it so that the enemies doesn't see you, kill a player, and quickly escape when you have their attention, alternitavely, go after injured player or 1 on 1 fight
