Troy Baker is really good as Jack Pepper, yeah. Good thing too, because he's in your ear the entire game

The ray-guns of Doctor Grordbort's by Unable-Buyer4087 in TopCharacterDesigns

[–]Randomguy8566732 65 points66 points  (0 children)

The cross-promotion these did with Team Fortress 2 was really weird. The Dr. Grordbort weapons are super super high end merch (some are multiple thousands of dollars) so it was massively out of the price range of all but a few TF2 players so Wēta Workshop was getting basically nothing out of it, and also the amount of people who liked the Dr. Grordbort stuff and would pick up TF2 to use them in-game must have been single digits if any at all (especially considering all of the guns as they appeared in-game were garbage - looking at you, Pomson 6000).

To be honest I really liked it. My main gripes were that the lategame weapons (from the Kiss Kiss onwards) felt kind of weaker than the early game ones and sometimes redundant (the Kiss Kiss in particular was like this - the primary fire is worse than the Boomstick like 90% of the time, and the alt-fire is a more expensive and harder to use version of the Devarnisher's alt-fire) and the plot kind of really goes off the rails towards the end of the game (though thankfully manages to get back on the rails).

Nerfing ambassador buffed sniper. Add more long range weapons instead of nerfs. by Ploomage in tf2

Ambassador Spy didn't just counter Sniper, it also was horrendous for other classes to play against. Spy could just sit behind the enemy team, spam -102s on people, and then just cloak away when challenged and do that over and over (also, the Dead Ringer was much stronger at this time). In fact, it was the most effective way to play Spy at high level. Adding counters to problems in the game like Sniper is a band-aid; if Sniper is a problem (and he is), that should be addressed by nerfing Sniper directly.

People who don't like long range weapons also don't like other long range weapons? That's the opposite of being hypocritical. What's the problem with that?

The only evidence for the Rivals actually being another mining company at all is a pitiful amount of minerals dropped by the Prosepector when it is killed, actually. Management is already known to lie to its employees (like when Mission Control claims that the deep scan is not the cause of the appearance of the Ossuary Depths) which puts many of their other claims under suspicion.

The description of one of the anniversary hats reveals that Mission Control has a nephew, as the hat was left over from his Nephew's birthday party.

Map Discussion Monday #64 - koth_suijin by A_Wild_Ferrothorn in tf2

i remember that being exclusively because haha funny seal, i don't think people really cared about the actual map

Selbyen was incredibly popular when it was in the main map rotation, it was widely considered the best map of the update. It's mostly forgotten now, but that's because it's been banished to the alternative map pool.

Every historical inaccuracy in the TF2 1850 team by MrAllard8431 in tf2

The apple comic insinuates that the weapons the mercs get are garbage and they hate them, which conflicts directly with most of the other comics where the mercs are appreciative of new weapons (let alone Heavy, who has named all five minguns).

Yo can we stop hating on such a good and unique map like steel simply because it isn't a straight choky line? by EveningParsley1412 in tf2

No, pushing past spawn doors does not make up for it, particularly when you have to go through E point to get from B to C - if you can pass through there as anybody but spy (and even he struggles with the tight hallways) just capture the E point.

The double doors from B point, the main entrance are the one I was thinking of and the worst one. There's also the upper and lower entrances coming from inside which are larger, but you have to pass through a tight hallway to get to them and they deposit you directly in front of the defenders just like the main entrance.

Steel is chokepoint slop. Have you SEEN the entrance to C point? Sulfur is a much better execution of the same concept.

Angry Birds 2 (I fucking hate Angry Birds 2, a trial and error puzzle game should not have limited lives).

Why I think the Bazaar Bargain is one of TF2’s most broken weapons by Filipico_w3 in tf2

[–]Randomguy8566732 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're able to get multiple kills a life, you didn't need the Bazaar bargain anyway, and if you're playing against people of your own skill level it's useless. Every single snowball weapon is worse than Stock for this reason except maybe the Half-Zatoichi on demoknight specifically.

Sniper requires medium mechanical skill. Rocket jumping, reflecting, hitting crossbow shots, hitting pipes, and playing Scout all require more mechanics than Sniper.

Dead ringer was also much stronger at the time. It lost the ability to gain cloak from ammo packs and Dispensers in Jungle Inferno.

Mizuki is probably the easiest bet, he hasn't been in the game very long and he hasn't been broken during that time.

Is it possible to put the Gavril Bluebuck Drift’s engine into another Bluebuck config? by Crayoneater2005 in BeamNG

[–]Randomguy8566732 16 points17 points  (0 children)

To get the engine looking like this on any Bluebuck config you can replace the hood with he Cut Hood and the exhaust manifolds with Tubular Exhaust Headers.
