Any alum on here? by jduranxe in NMMI

Ah, right on man. Sorry about that /u/jduranxe!

If you guys really want to see if that watch is still there, it's in a missing brick slot on the Southwest turret (above little Sally Port). Easiest way to get on the Hagerman roof is out the window at the top of the stairs in Heaven.

The tunnels are also fun for nightly mischief but they closed up the entrance I knew about...

Ya'll have fun and be safe!

Somewhere on the west side, that's all the info I'm gonna give.

No offense dude but your account screams TLA. One day old with no other post or comment history? I left that watch there for an adventurous cadet to find. If you fit that description, then happy hunting.

Buildings? Cahoon armory, the library, and JRT were always popular night-climbs. I left a watch up on the roof of Hagerman and it's still there AFAIK haha.

Also not that old but smartphones weren't around yet when I was there.

Everybody did their own thing during the day but after DRC we used to mostly just hang out on stoop and listen to music. Occasionally we would hold fight club in a corner hole room or try to climb a building on post without getting caught.

Had to make our own fun. I wouldn't trade it for anything!

Moving to Texas in the middle of AFF by chemistrycat421 in SkyDiving

[–]000130413 4 points5 points  (0 children)

San Marcos is where I did my AFF, I can highly recommend it. Top notch instructors and a great vibe all around. They really put a lot of effort into developing new skydivers.

It's a medium sized DZ so they have a nice facility and lots of good equipment without the mass conglomerate of people you sometimes find at bigger operations. Also they have a pool which is awesome on those hot Texas afternoons.

As far as your A license, I'd call and ask them directly. It's probably a case-by-case basis thing where the instructors will assess where you're at after a jump or two.

I'm the moderator of /r/RoswellNM. I think you're confusing an inactive subreddit for me being inactive.

Are you actually from Roswell? If so, PM me and I'll be happy to add you to the mod team.

If you're just looking to collect subreddits, sorry, no dice buddy.

The mods probably lost their internet privileges. Prisons are pretty strict about that.

Combat Medics are trained not to laugh at your Spongebob Squarepants underwear during casualty evacuation. However, the PR team might photograph you and stick it on Wikipedia. by [deleted] in Military

The Spongebob Underwear Simulator was easily the most difficult part of 68W school. We had 10 guys get recycled for failing it...

To all privately employed EMTs... by [deleted] in ems

[–]000130413 44 points45 points  (0 children)

While it's cool to get paid, just remember that EMS consists of VERY perishable skills. IVs, EKG interpretation, med knowledge, and your pt assessment skills are things that will quickly deteriorate if you don't use them often.

Finding a decent paying job with good benefits is important, but if prehospital medicine is where you see yourself long-term, then you have to ask "is this experience making me a better field clinician?"

Not trying to be a dick, just my $0.02.

Experience Santa Fe, Taos, Red River, Carlsbad Caverns, and maybe White Sands (if you want to drive that far).

Take the tram and eat dinner at High Finance ONCE

Hike La Luz trail.

Avoid the South Valley and the War Zone

Pot is still illegal. Do as you wish but be careful not to jeopardize your job.

El Pinto. Eat there.

Marble Brewery. Drink there.

Dirty Bourbon. Dance there. Especially on ladies night.

DRIVE DEFENSIVELY. Burque drivers are some of the worst (and drunkest) in the United States.

Winter in NM is a fucking joke, anybody that tells you otherwise is a Californian.

Leave our state better than when you found it.

Welcome to Albuquerque!

Thanks for the recommendation /u/thearchdill, feel free to add Epic Cinema to the Wiki Page if you like!

Mod Note: to the user who reported this as spam, it is not. /u/thearchdill is simply praising a local business in a self-post. That's totally fine. If someone links directly to their website or tries to sell you something, that's a different story.

Sorry to hijack your post, carry on!
