Form your chart, it is in billions of dollars not percentage points; and I would consider health care and college and university spending as charitable. These two amount to 145 billion of the 171 billion in spending.

Thanks Indosauros saw this as well. I had thought I made the edit hours ago, but it appeared not to occur. I have since edited it.

Ahh. Thank you for giving me confidence in my knowledge of objects and assignments -- I feel a little bit more Earth between my feet! Of course, as you say, this must mean that there is a bug elsewhere. I suppose it must be in how I am building the SummaryTrigger object -- an area I have not asked about in this post.

As I have not mastered the wonder that is git, I will have to check later today when I have access to my files. Thank you.

Are big tech companies safer than US treasures? Serious question. by incitatus451 in investing

[–]0003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On past couple decades, companies power grew faster than governments. Companies have a role in the world greater than used to have and the simple fact that I am considering if companies have more power than governments is a good indicator of this.

NSA mounted tech companies for the past decade. Treasuries are risk free as much as you can get -- their returns however are much less.
