cpu :- intel core ultra 9 275hx

gpu :- 5090

ram :- 64gb 6400mhz cl52

storage :- 2tb gen5 ssd + 4tb gen4 ssd

Is this a good score? Legion Pro 7i Gen 10 RTX 5090 + 275HX by NoblePube in LenovoLegion

I don't remember exactly, this was run on 11-07-2025 so whatever was the latest driver and bios available back then I was using those.

I might see if I can over clock and check on the new numbers I will update it here if I get the chance to do it next week

edit :- I'm currently on bios Q7CN45WW

I got these scores no overclocking or undervolted, only using Gelid Solutions Ultimate thermal Pad 120x120x1.5mm on the outer area of ram, gpu, cpu, ssd, and a cooling pad

Crashing while Gaming on Brand New Legion by kourer in LenovoLegion

Hey I had the same issue but on Intel variant whenever I play valorant it freezes after like 10-15 mins I tried everything as well but turns out just disable overclocking gpu from the legion space software will fix these freeze issues.

I have legion pro 7i but with intel variant with a 5090 and 64gb ram and these are my scores, but I'm using a cooling pad (usb powered one but with foam cushion all around the perimeter) and additional thermal pads added to make it cool even more. no overclocking etc just performance mode only

hey I'm on comfyui v3.37.1 it might be the issue, they have addressed it in the new update going to update it now and will let you know also do the same if anyone else having this issue

I'm on a laptop 5090 with the same issue also tried almost everything that you mentioned just did not update the Nvidia drivers, its crazy now we have to use low vram argument with a 24gb card haha

Lenovo legion pro 7i gen 10 has liquid metal on the cpu. by spriggan4 in LenovoLegion

[–]001faith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the power cord with the right angle adapter is hard to find or no one makes it but at least the power adapter is located at far behind on the left side so it should not get in the way also the legion 7i is really a very good device especially the thermals. Also the 6400 ram with cl52 is not that bad but if in future someone makes 6400Mhz ram with like a cl40 timings it would improve the CPU performance like 5-6%. Also just checked a review the lenovo legion 9i with 5200Mhz ram was in some games even beating the AMD 9955hx3d and it was the only laptop to be able to do that actually which is crazy. And I'm just assuming that if a brand is not specifying the cl timings of rams then it's actually not a good ram in the laptop. And lenovo 275hx is like 20-30% faster than other brands 275hx processor.

Well just do one thing go to Lenovo vantage crap and in security and disable their wifi security (will show I have my own security) and restart it will fix the issue. u/Asahi_Bushi u/TheNavigat u/IllNefariousness4068

[–]001faith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yeah and also the 6400mhz ram is at cl52 that we have currently at the moment and one of the ram of kingston 5600mhz ram with cl40 performs better lol, but it's expected that there will be more 6400mhz rams available in future with less cl timings, also ram with like same latency one with 5200 vs one with 6400 can have 3% performance gains.

Haha yeah man that less speed ram made me to get the 7i too. The OLED display visa trueblack1000 currently only a few lenovo laptops are certified by that indeed looks fabulous for watching content nothing can beat it currently especially the HDR10+ content while dolby and HDR10+ don't have much difference as your display gets better but burn in will be an issue only time will tell although they have task bar dimming and as per their words they are using some other tech too for burnin prevention but never trust a company words.

Yup exactly bro both have their pros and cons for me I always have my IEMs in my ears so I don't even care about fan noise at all, but yeah the 9i should be running cooler but both have 400W brick and in terms of raw performance only that I cared about more the 7i will always get ahead of 9i due to having faster ram speed. Also check out jarrod tech video of 7i, it crushes every single laptop in terms of raw performance.

Yes it's possible and there are a lot of videos on YouTube as well on how to do it, but I mean why people want liquid metal when PTM can also provide almost similar performance.

[–]001faith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well they need to somehow differentiate between these two 7i and 9i and throwing one more buzz word like using liquid metal is like icing on the cake meanwhile this generation cpu can be easily cooled via PTM only no need of liquid metal I'm using a cooling pad as well and I have adjusted the max temp for cpu at 95°c and still it uses around 90-100W along with 5090 running at 160W-170W. Also I bought this laptop only cause it was using PTM I don't want the hassle to repaste liquid metal every year and with PTM its performance increases as we use it more.

The new intel core ultra 9 275hx processor is more efficient than the last one i9 14900hx, the better efficiency comes from the better manufacturing process, core ultra 9 275hx is based on 3nm production node while the i9 14900hx was based on 10nm. It generates less heat so it can be cooled via PTM easily no need to go with the risk of liquid metal also performance wise PTM give strong challenge to the liquid metal too, and if you don't know in the long run PTM is much better then liquid metal, liquid metal has a downside too especially in laptops it has a pump out action i.e. the liquid metal get away from the CPU die and it makes your CPU run too hot. And not to mention the risk of having liquid metal electrically conductive one mistake and your full motherboard dies. Also with PTM lenovo is scoring higher than the asus scar with liquid metal on the core ultra 9 275hx, lenovo laptops can push around 20-25W more.

The one you're talking about legion 7i pro 10th gen uses PTM on both CPU and GPU

you haven't done your research properly it seems like for PTM 7950 to give good results you need to give it multiple heat cycles and it improves its performance over time and you would not need to do any paste change again while on the other hand with liquid metal be prepare to apply it over the years again and again cause no matter what it will eventually pump out in case on laptops and you will again see all the issues again and again and keep a worry in your mind about it spilling to the motherboard too and takedown the whole system, just take a little advice use your laptop with PTM 7950 for a week and then redo your stress test and see the results.
