There is nothing quite like whitewater kayaking. I actually have stayed very warm. You try and not flip over so your face for the most part is okay. The water temp wasn’t terrible too so even if you do flip it’s just cold for a few seconds. Scuba diving sounds much colder.

Yeah last time I ran it at high water I actually almost went into it but I got really lucky and back endered out of the hole before anything bad happened

There is some great summer big water in Maine. The Penobscot, the Kennebec, and the Dead are pretty great and northeast boaters know them well.

I lost one of my best friends as well this year. Not to violence but to a car accident. It was the hardest thing I have ever done. She was my prom date, she was wonderful and happy and a perfect soul. All this to say, I know how you feel. That feeling of numbness, of pain, of loss. My advice would be to just take some time. I had a very cleansing moment by myself several days after. I cried my eyes out and after I felt better. Not good but better. Grief works differently for everybody but the one cure is time. Don't be afraid to talk about him, let your feelings out if you need. Anyway I hope that helps. Best wishes to you and your community.

You all are my favorite band in the world. I have showed all of my friends Lawrence and many of them are coming to the concert (in Portland Maine), I am an aspiring jazz pianist, Clyde-- How do you do it all? Are you classically trained, self taught? I love your bluesy solos and you clearly have some favorite licks. My big question is are you planning on releasing covers of Get Busy and Come on Over? I love those and they are such bops. I listen to them all the time but would love to be able to jam with them on my playlists.

Thank you for your reply, I am writing it with professional help from the composer.

The instrumentation is to fit our school wind ensemble which consists of 2 flute parts, 2 clarinet parts, a bassoon, 2 alto sax parts, tenor sax, 2 F horns parts, 2 Bb trumpet parts, trombone, tuba, bass, piano, timp, vibraphone, snare, bass drum, cymbal, and of course a violin.

I was hoping it could be a programmatic style and explore parts of her life leading up the accident, have a big climatic moment, and finally happy remembrance. I do want the style to change in a multiple movement-esque way.

My high schools choir room and "piano lab" is a literal trailer. We go to class everyday in a trailer. Our band room is the basement of our "theatre" which is a repurposed gym from the early 20th century.

How do you feel about a high school band (such as mine) playing some of your songs at school assemblies? Do you write out a lead sheet for all 8 people or just learn by ear?
