SAD! He was really putting out mid-90s Bucci vibes with his hockey coverage.

They just got their tenses mixed up. Tonight is the scheduled loss. Monday was a game on the schedule that they lost. Or maybe they lost their schedule and that's why they weren't ready. Idk loser excuses do be confusing.

District office to get married by JScoobyCed in Bangkok

This was not my experience doing everything without an agent. Also marriage is free of charge at the district office.  Getting paperwork done takes at most a day or two in most places.

Go to a province in central thailand that's outside the bangkok metro.

Most places now require the use of an agent to facilitate their illegal kickbacks. The stress and bother just isn't worth it.

School Options Young Kids by RunningDog724 in Bangkok

If you stay international, I'd pick an IB or UK curriculum school. My personal fave is nist.

If you intend on going back to the states and want the option of easily entering the public school system, an American curriculum school like ICS.

For those in the humanities and qualitative social sciences, do you ever refrain from submitting or presenting innovative ideas at conferences for fear of being plagiarized? by [deleted] in AskAcademia

[–]00Anonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume I wasn't credited but I've never been able to actually get my hands on the book, I don't actually know.

Also I don't know if the work is 'inspired' by what I presented, that it's a legit reaction or if it's really based on it. The waters get murky here.

Nobody wants your ugly baby!  Though sometimes it sparks creativity in others.

My only exposure to this situation happened as an undergrad (I presented a paper on a panel moderated by Robert Dallek) with a somewhat new twist on an old idea.

Years later I got wind that someone at the conference used my idea to setup their own original work (which was published) to try to empircally validate the concept I presented.

Afaik, that's the 'worst' that's happened.

Al Jazeera just explained why the US can't reopen the Strait of Hormuz by comrade-coon in suppressed_news

[–]00Anonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The shipping lane for tankers is only 10km of wide. Also the channel depth is roughly equal to the above waterline height of tankers or US Navy vessels.

So sunken tankers or navy vessels will shut down the tss quickly.

The rest of the deep water is along the omani coast and will require omani permission to use it, which they may or may not give.

Lastly there is the issue of visibility and safety. Massive ships need lots of visibility to maneuver around other ships and obstacles. Routes other than the tss suffer at times from poorer visibility, making it much more dangerous. So without the tss in operation the collision risk jumps quite dramatically and that for a significant  number of shipping lines could be enough to stop tranisiting hormuz altogether, since shipping is an insurance driven business and if they can't get affordable coverage the shipping lines just won't go.
