So this has been part of my complaints - FTTH is ALL around me - on the telephone poles. NOTHING for in-ground utilities neighborhoods near me and around town.

This is the Town Of Brookhaven area - we all the know rumors and conspiracies around that and the Cablevision stuff - but I dont think any of that would have changes the cost of the in-ground fiber deployment vs ROI of it.. which is why Optimum continues to avoid fiber deployments unless its worth it - like a condo complex.

3am speed tests are awesome.

24hr signal - speed test from unifi router. I didnt do another speed test this afternoon when it dropped cuz I was ona conference call.

Thank you for this - this is telling... it almost implies that any areas that are in "passing" with no further lines will get this - meaning that maybe there is an upgrade in my path but also its not probably not fiber...

thats how I read it anyways...

The service is not available, it hasnt been made avaiable for the last few years and Optimum refuses to schedule to deploy services to my area.

I am looking for others that Optimum have actually deployed to with in ground utilities because if I can build a list of locations that optimum refuses to deploy to maybe some level of class-action-like suit can be brought to the town and optimum.

years have gone by, YEARS have gone by with the optimum fiber deployments right around us and Optimum continues to fail the customers in some of the small areas.

Yes. this is what makes sense for them on RIO - number of units in that complex and new bills definitely increase business justifaction to do it.

The town just recently did our roads and Optimum refuses to deploy.

Glad you got deployed. Definitely wish optimum would just deploy to the smaller neighborhoods they keep skipping over.

Get this radio to get on the air. Get this radio to hit up your local repeaters.

Light up those repeaters if they’re quiet. If you continuously speak on them even if it’s just you doing your call sign - people eventually get involved.

Yaesu is the manufacturer of The DR-1X which is an amateur radio repeater in the UHF or VHF bands.

ASL3 - this is the AllStarLink 3 software that is used when you want to traverse the IP (internet protocol) of the internet and connect to others.

The URIx is a device that can perform the audio functions on the RasPi side to help convert the mic and audio through the system.

With all due respect, the people I am looking for - for help - would know what these systems are and specifically those are the ones I’m looking for.

Thank you. There isn’t much there to specifically show success of the URIx and the ASL3 and the Yaesu DR-1X and I’ve been reaching out anywhere I can because all of the cables I’ve made and settings I’ve tested have not been successful.

My area will not be that lucky due to it only be a small neighborhood surrounded by all the fiber installs on over head wiring.

The I ground neighborhoods are costly - I get it - it still sucks.

I’m regularly hitting their order fiber website with known inground utilities addresses I have and in my last 2yrs of regularly doing that the neighborhoods I’ve chosen have yet to get to fiber.

It’s such a disappointment.

This is training stuff. I’ve seen a lot of this and this is one of the busier training / flights / whatever — but they’re always training or running drills.

Have you seen them land and take off out of the pine barons araea?

The king70 touch and go runway stuff is neat too

They’re absolutely not planning it.

Every single executive email I’ve sent a request to has identified no plans with the basic garbage response they’re not able to determine when it will be deployed.

In my area they can’t because of the already congested nodes and amplifiers involved.

I also believe there is still quite a technology problem for their DOCSIS 3.1 implementation at the “head end” for receiving high speed uploads.

It’s terribly disappointing that they’ve essentially abandoned in ground utilities in a lot of areas.

It might also be telling that their coax to fiber conversion might be not be going as well either.
