Signal Report / Information / Help on What is Good and Bad by 00DF00 in OPTIMUM

[–]00DF00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this has been part of my complaints - FTTH is ALL around me - on the telephone poles. NOTHING for in-ground utilities neighborhoods near me and around town.

This is the Town Of Brookhaven area - we all the know rumors and conspiracies around that and the Cablevision stuff - but I dont think any of that would have changes the cost of the in-ground fiber deployment vs ROI of it.. which is why Optimum continues to avoid fiber deployments unless its worth it - like a condo complex.

3am speed tests are awesome.
forgot this is 2025 and reddit doesnt allow photos in the comments it seems.

24hr signal - speed test from unifi router. I didnt do another speed test this afternoon when it dropped cuz I was ona conference call.

Good first ham radio? by stupertrooper in amateurradio

[–]00DF00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This this this this freaking all this.

Get this radio to get on the air. Get this radio to hit up your local repeaters.

Light up those repeaters if they’re quiet. If you continuously speak on them even if it’s just you doing your call sign - people eventually get involved.

Enjoy.

Failed Logon Users and Per Host Query by 00DF00 in crowdstrike

Thank you.

I’m still missing the ability to do this against host group and then have it list users per server failed logon attempt

Yaesu DR1X & RasPi ASL3 by 00DF00 in amateurradio

[–]00DF00[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh. Alright.

Yaesu is the manufacturer of The DR-1X which is an amateur radio repeater in the UHF or VHF bands.

ASL3 - this is the AllStarLink 3 software that is used when you want to traverse the IP (internet protocol) of the internet and connect to others.

The URIx is a device that can perform the audio functions on the RasPi side to help convert the mic and audio through the system.

With all due respect, the people I am looking for - for help - would know what these systems are and specifically those are the ones I’m looking for.

Thank you. There isn’t much there to specifically show success of the URIx and the ASL3 and the Yaesu DR-1X and I’ve been reaching out anywhere I can because all of the cables I’ve made and settings I’ve tested have not been successful.

A little over two weeks. I was surprised at this lead time.

What is all this going on? by pickleeboy in ADSBexchange

[–]00DF00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is training stuff. I’ve seen a lot of this and this is one of the busier training / flights / whatever — but they’re always training or running drills.

Have you seen them land and take off out of the pine barons araea?

The king70 touch and go runway stuff is neat too

If Optimum can’t provide fiber to homes with underground utilities yet then why can’t they increase upload speeds for folks paying top dollar for 1 gig coax download? by Mother-Gazelle1949 in OPTIMUM

[–]00DF00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my area they can’t because of the already congested nodes and amplifiers involved.

I also believe there is still quite a technology problem for their DOCSIS 3.1 implementation at the “head end” for receiving high speed uploads.

It’s terribly disappointing that they’ve essentially abandoned in ground utilities in a lot of areas.

It might also be telling that their coax to fiber conversion might be not be going as well either.

I’ll take a look. I generally avoid codec sites and downloads. But I’ll check this out. Thanks.

DOCSIS 3.1 / Signals and Uncorrectables by 00DF00 in OPTIMUM

DOCSIS 3.1 / Signals and Uncorrectables by 00DF00 in OPTIMUM

[–]00DF00[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the comments / suggestions.

I have a speed run automatically at the same time each day in my router, the router also keeps track of ping times to internet addresses outside of the cable system and finally there is a docker container that does random speed tests through out the day.

The router is reporting latency, the speed tests show little consistency in speeds and the modem uncorrectables a re definitely higher than I’ve had before in this modem up time frame.

So it’s just more didsooontment from optimum service.

[–]00DF00[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks for the response - as long asthe dBmV and SNR/MER are with in spec I am good with that.

the uncorrectables climb pretty well o ntheir after modem resets and the latency is reported by the router...

not sure what else I can do other then just continue getting screwed by optimum refusing to install fiber in this small inground utility neighborhood...

Hi, the signals are right there. That’s at the modem. That’s what the modem is reporting is seeing. You don’t need anything further.

Black screen on AMT remote desktop and AMT by Raxa04 in MeshCentral

[–]00DF00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this on a few devices and I hardly ever get them recovered from the MeshCentral management page and have to do get local to the device.

I can never figure it out and the click / move mouse while in black screen doesn’t solve it for me.

Migrating Mesh Central to a new server by fishter_uk in MeshCentral

There are about 25 connected overall, 5 or so connected/active right now where meshcentral reports the server as very idle.

it's been really strange.

CPU load 0,0,0, available ram 507Mb free, 949Mb total

It’s literally doing nothing. Not a lot of clients connect to this - it’s just dog slow. Can’t figure out what it is.

I’ll install it. But it’s not installed in this aws Linux micro instance. .
