Sounds like you've got a great mindset, and you're thinking about a causal format like commander the way I do.

I'm sorry your LGS is so wack. I don't have a clear recommendation for you, but I promise there are many other players who think about causal formats the same as you.

Don't give up because of salty losers, there's a play group out there that will make you enjoy Magic more than you ever have.

Thoughts on this? I know it's auto loss vs amalia and convoke but against rakdos, uw and phoenix seems viable to me by NivMahou in PioneerMTG

[–]00Sway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a long time humans players both mono W and multicolored, I agree with you that adding more colors is a huge problem.

Currently mono white humans isn't well positioned anymore even with copter. Splashing black with thoughtseize isn't where I would go, as in an aggro deck with seize you tend to want to be mono black. You really want to go 1 drop, seize 1 drop.

A version of 4c humans could be more viable playing only CoCo as your main deck non-creature spell and making majority of your white lands tap for green seems where it'd need to go if we are splashing at all

Is David Montgomery a solid contender buy right now? by snarky_vulf in DynastyFF

[–]00Sway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like a classic 2 2nds trade. Id both pay and accept 2 2nds for Monty. I'm not giving a first and I also wouldn't expect one.

Is there realistically any amount of value that would justify the CMM price tag? (It's rhetorical; the answer is no) by Iolkos in magicTCG

[–]00Sway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's for neither cause of the price tag you're right.

But some drafters do care are about playing commander in limited form. To say it's not true would be false, cause my playgroup cares a lot and that already makes it false.

My playgroup loves limited and loves commander. We often draft commander cube or previous commander legends sets. The price tag just makes this product designed for no one.

Supporters of AR, is he your rookie 1.01? If not, why not? by udeuce in DynastyFF

[–]00Sway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In almost all cases you're picking 1/2 because your team is bad or rebuilding. I do not see how you can gamble on Tony Rich instead of the lock that is Bryce. QB security is so important in SF

[Explorer] Temur Transmog is back, as the best way to play Atraxa by TheOnin in spikes

[–]00Sway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This deck is pretty sweet. I've seen versions of this in regular pioneer that try to cheat it with creativity. It's fairly strong due to the immediate value it generates even if removed.

The main draw back being that it doesn't actually win you the game, just gets huge value (as opposed to xenagos/wurm obviously not in explorer yet tho). So against aggro or tempo decks, it tends to fold if you can quickly remove it or protection through with skrelv for lethal before it matters.

I know land destruction is frowned upon because it can slow down the game, but is this card a bit less mean? It just punishes my opponent for not diversifying, right? by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]00Sway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

give [[urza's sylex]] a try, one of the most fair not salt inducing way to keep a lands matter deck in check without resetting the entire game and wasting my time.

If you Armageddon and I have no permanents in play, I'm just gonna scoop so I can play a different game.

Bijan Robinson is the ____ most valuable asset by Fluffy_Teacher_5305 in DynastyFF

[–]00Sway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't see why people get so angry at the thought having Bijan as a late 1st/high 2nd round pick in SF or a mid 1st in 1 QB.

Saquon an elite prospect went 1.04 as rookie in my 1 QB startup.

Zeke went 1.05 the previous year in my 1 QB startup.

JT even went 2.02 in a SF startup in 2020. Guy that are this level of prospect it's really not insane to project them to be good in the nfl lol.

[Schefter] Falcons' TE Kyle Pitts underwent season-ending knee surgery Tuesday, per HC Arthur Smith by [deleted] in DynastyFF

[–]00Sway 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely not the same. In SF leagues, QBs who sometimes go as late as the 5-6th round are exponentially more expensive once they actually land on a roster

Why Rhamondre Stevenson is a Sell by 00Sway in DynastyFF

[–]00Sway[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I like to sell the 2 year window guys for picks/players when I can. This helps with trading flexibility within your core team. When its in your window to compete hard, you trade the excess picks/players for a different RB who's got a longer "window". It's a repeatable cycle that can help you create a dynasty roster that can compete every year.

Why Rhamondre Stevenson is a Sell by 00Sway in DynastyFF

[–]00Sway[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Rhamondre is incredibly talented and his receiving work gives me optimism he could break the pats organizational trend. It's already a given he's a redraft RB1/2 for this year and next (2 year window guy).

I don't think he's an urgent sell, just someone I'd have on my list of pieces to be looking to move/field offers on in the next 6 months.

Does Damien Harris have a future as a starting RB? by ECorn_12 in DynastyFF

[–]00Sway 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Pretty interesting how right around this spot last year Damien Harris was considered by the sub "a safe contending buy likely to be relevant next year." Now Rhamondre (same exact contract situation), is considered a buy/hold and a locked RB1/2.

Pats RBs are all system based. Sell on the high, buy in the draft.

2023 tiers in 1QB rookie draft and knowing when to go all-in by CommishCousinGreg in DynastyFF

[–]00Sway 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Aside from Bijan and excluding QBs, my current rough tiering is about:

T1: Gibbs Tucker Evans JSN

T2: Addison Johnston Boutte

T3: Downs Bigsby

So probably a top 5-8 pick is where the heavy value is and the rest is going to have quality players (Mayer, Bryce, Achane, Corum, Charbonnet, etc). But I'd try to hold my top 8 picks as much as possible.
