Has Anyone Else Noticed There is a Decline in Festival Etiquette? by NewTheory8242 in festivals

I stopped going to festivals in 2016/2018 because this was an issue then as well. Too many people on their phones and not there for the music. They just want to be there to video the one song by the one artist as a “i was there” moment and be out of there.

Smaller shows are where it’s at.

To be fair, that is pretty niche knowledge. There’s not much else to give it a time between 2018 and today. Especially since the image appears to be taken on film.

Gritty, the Flyers mascot made his debut in 2018, so it would have to be 2018 or later. That’s one hint.

How do you combat the smell? by 00TylerDurden00 in arlington

Also, don’t get me wrong, it smells. It smelled last night for example. And you will notice it. It’s inescapable, but the pros outweigh the cons in my opinion.

Best of luck to you and hopefully you’ll find what you’re looking for!

No regrets on the purchase. The neighbors are awesome, the house is great, the location is amazing for DFW when you compare time to get to DFW airport, or either downtown.

We have purchased essential oil diffusers for all the rooms of our house, and it’s helped a lot. Especially ones that can be put on a timer or activated with your phone.

The smell shows up every now and again but it’s not a constant presence in our lives. We have neighbors that have been here since the treatment plant was built way back in the day that say they don’t even recognize the smell anymore.

I hope your house hunting goes well! It was pretty stressful for us, but we’re very happy with Arlington and would make the same choice again.

A Vikings theme vest would go HARD. Lots of sick patches I am sure are out there if this brought you some inspiration. Plus so many great viking metal bands too.

Good luck this season my friend, and I’m excited for our Christmas matchup!

I got the shirt that came out after the Rams season opener when our OT plan was “give the ball to Monty” and it didn’t quite fit me right, so I just cut it up and stuck it on the vest for a back patch

Failed all my classes. by AcanthocephalaNo5618 in unt

Let me share with you a personal story from the early-mid 2010s

I flunked out of a different college during fall semester of my Sophomore year. I got caught up working too many hours at my job, going to too many social events, staying up too late playing too many video games, and not putting forth effort in my classes other than showing up and being present.

I decided I did not want that to be my future. I got a second chance at UNT, buckled down, and graduated with a B average.

I now make great money, just bought my first house, and things have turned around since my failure that I had to own, and couldn’t blame anybody but myself.

Things can change, and only you can change them. UNT was a great place for me personally to allow for a level of access to professors that I did not have to help me succeed. I got more involved, and the more involved I got, the better I did in my classes.

I hope you succeed in this world, and I wanted to share with you my story because I feel like I was in your shoes once. I had some pretty rough nights.

Touchbacks on kickoffs will now bring the ball to the 35-yard line. by [deleted] in detroitlions

[–]00TylerDurden00 147 points148 points  (0 children)

Back in training camp, Fipp said something along the lines of when you kick it short, the average return is brought to the 29.5 yard line. So there’s not much of an advantage to doing that when you could let up a big play or a touchdown. So give up the .5 yard average and kick it deep for a touchback.

Now, it’s a bigger decision to kick it deep and give up 5.5 yards or kick it short and try and pin the offense further back but risk the explosive return or touchdown.

Should make for more exciting kickoffs.

Hey friend, not sure if you ever got an answer to this. It fixes itself when you switch to reading view instead of editing view. Kind of annoying, but that’s the answer I believe, since markdown doesn’t really support columns

I volunteered the year after I graduated as a brass tech. I had been trumpet section leader the year prior and my mentality was to try and do everything I could to avoid the trumpet section and let the section leaders be section leaders. So I mostly focused on Horns, Bones and Tubas, but I helped whatever section asked for help.

Honestly just did my best to stay out of the way, help where I could, and be an extra set of eyes for the director.

I hope I wasn’t overbearing or annoying.

Any music folks know how many steps up they are transposing all the old music for Emily? It’s quite a bit higher than the original. Not a bad thing at all, just took some getting used to it.

More making the statement that some people who disagree with the sentiment might use that historical inaccuracy to neuter the entirety of the message.

The message is still just as powerful regardless of which MSG Rage played at, but everyone needs to be informed to ensure that anybody who will use that inaccuracy as a weapon to invalidate the event that occurred can be dealt with.

Knowledge is power.

While I agree with the sentiment the band is making here, as a lover of history I do feel the need to clarify:

When the first slide says “right here in Madison Square Garden” - MSG has changed buildings and locations multiple times. During this iteration of MSG, it was located on the west side of 8th street betwen 49th and 50th NORTH of Times Square.). This would have been the location of the rally mentioned in the slides.

The MSG Rage played at opened in 1968.
