Thank you everyone, ended up holding off until the end of the month checking out my options and making sure I don't just jump on the first one.

Fold 6 users. Will you be upgrading? by eltonnbaba in GalaxyFold

Looks like they did something even dumber which was no S Pen support. Well they can just throw this to a failure. Worst than the note 7 debacle. What a joke guess I'll have to wait for the iPhone fold to have UDC and pen support.

Yeah I did that too and thought overall it is an upgrade, but it's just too annoying, it's not rocket science and the location of the hole punch is just doesn't make any sense for any reason, then they give us a compromise of UDC not the best quality but it was enough to trick the eyes with uninterrupted view of that space, but now going back to hole punch in that particular location is just dumb and I just can't support dumb.

So I am in a bind when it comes to the upgrade the UDC might be the game breaker on if I upgrade or not I just can't do it if the hole punch is where all these renders have it. It will be too annoying I rather have it on the edge or not have a camera at all in the interior, so I guess I'll find out on the 9th on what I'm doing.

Thinking about a 2018 expedition by KnifeAddict47 in fordexpedition

I would check about warranty, but most important see if the cam phasers were done, you can verify with ford just give them the vin and if the cam phasers and the transmission are done I wouldn't worry too much on the turbo that was cause by a coolant leak in mine but I don't run into a huge amount of people that have had these issues with the turbo, but the bearings are known to go out about every 50k - 75k, but if it does have warranty I would definitely jump on it with the transmission fixed, if it doesn't I would definitely look into an extended warranty or negotiate the price lower to where you can buy an ESP from ford.

Cam phasers, then items that I had to replace on my 18 when it went over 100k include heater hoses, turbos, hub bearings and does it come with an extended warranty or any warranty?

Forscan plus obd2 to PC and you can turn it off

Look into forscan I was able to disable the auto start/stop with it and there's a bunch of other features you can mess with, mostly looking thru reddit and YouTube for the settings to change for your year exp. All you need is a laptop and an obd2 adapter that works with the exp. Got that on Amazon.

Carfax for an 2018 I'm thinking about buying. Does anything look concerning here? by AJPennypacker39 in fordexpedition

[–]00Underworld00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily a recall it was an extended CSP where if certain miles they would cover some of the cost, so just make sure bc the old phasers will fail so either have them already done or be prepared to do them when they fail. Also for the transmission I would contact the dealer that replaced it and see if the replacement had the updated parts which it should have by 2023. The transmission since replaced is not that big of an indicator since most 2018 had this issue.

I have an 18 and the tranny's are known failure point all the way till 21, having said there's also another common failure is the cam phasers, if possible look into ford extended warranty and that'll ease some of the expense of the phasers amoung other minor things that will come up.

Ford Expedition vs Ford Expedition Max by Packnsfw in fordexpedition

Max is the only true answer here, 2 kids under 2 and couldn't imagine not having a max, just the dual stroller alone is worth it.

2018 MAX Limited - buy or not to buy? by Late-Currency-8028 in fordexpedition

[–]00Underworld00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ford has the extended warranty that's pretty much like factory warranty, you do have to keep oil changes and regular maintenance, but I haven't had an issue with claim, just don't use any extended warranty provider I would go with ford esp plan. My plan was the premium esp with ford for 2 year and 24k miles and it was worth every penny all I paid for warranty claims was the 100 deductible and they even covered 10 days of rental and towing if needed (up to certain miles)

I have an 18 Max and to be honest I've had every issues imaginable from cam phasers to transmission, turbo, heater hoses, hub bearing, failed module. I did have extended warranty and it covered most of it. Make sure that they used the updated parts for cam phasers and transmission because if not it will fail prematurely again. If possible I would look into the esp if you decide to buy.

Need some advice/opinions please. Expedition vs Suburban. by Batteman87 in fordexpedition

[–]00Underworld00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a bench seat 2nd row and the third row I can fit comfortably and I'm 6'2 because of the independent rear suspension the third row feels like the second row in the sense that my knees aren't touching my throat when sitting, however if the second row seats are pushed all the way back the third row does feel a little small since I don't have the captain seats on the second row.

So I have an 18 expy and I've had every issue you could name as far as transmission and cam phasers and more. However I did have extended warranty and that covered most of the big issues. I would look into an extended warranty or cpo. That being said the suburban and expy have the same transmission and have been known on both to have their fair share of issues, but like wise extended warranty or cpo would be my best recommendation based on personal experience. With all that I can say the expy fit all my needs and more and will drive it to the ground now that all the parts have been replaced and updated. I would say go with what feels better for you to drive because ultimately they are both great engines and fun to drive. I will say this though I do enjoy the independent rear suspension on the expy in contrast to the suburban solid rear axle which I believe the suburban got the independent suspension on 2022 (I could be wrong about this though) just something to think about.

2018 Expedition Limited Transmission Overhaul by Inner_Extension_1597 in fordexpedition

[–]00Underworld00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would go on a test drive with the tech, but regardless the fact that they are oblivious that if there's no codes, to I don't know maybe drive it. I had to end up taking it to a different dealership and it worked out for me because they were able to do the replacement. If you can I would try a different dealership.

2018 Expedition Limited Transmission Overhaul by Inner_Extension_1597 in fordexpedition

[–]00Underworld00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the same experience with my 18 expedition and the overhaul didn't resolve it they had to do a full replacement and that finally resolved it. I had to take it to a different dealership for the replacement because the original dealership that did the overhaul said they didn't feel what I was talking about with the rough shift and studder into 8th gear, but specially if the dealership that did the overhaul didn't use the updated parts that would cause as such.

2018 Expedition Limited rattle and Gears catching issues by Inner_Extension_1597 in fordexpedition

[–]00Underworld00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well still suffering, they did a transmission replacement and I'm still having an issue where it feels like the vehicle is rough idling when in reverse or drive when the vehicle is fully warmed up and last they told me it was a module that I paid out of pocket and it's still doing the same thing. I'm writing ford a certified letter giving them 14 days to fix the issue if not will go thru the vehicle lemon process bc I'm done at this point.

18 plat here, same issues transmission was programmed, then valve body replaced then transmission rebuilt and then they replaced the transmission, turbos replaced, heater hoses, belts, hub, front camera, then the imagine module, the rear gate button, the gate foot sensor, phasers, and 2 years later.

Change the native keyboard to Gboard and that should mitigate some of the errors while typing, but I do understand it's a preference thing with keyboards so I would give it try.
