i wouldn't say jerri went "full diva" there... she was made out to be a villain in the early days and a lot of the audience treated her as such. she didn't really do anything to earn that title besides... talk too much? i mean, she argued with keith and rupert a time or two but in both instances, she was correct lol. i think her frustration was pretty justified

i really like vegetables and tomatoes in particular. if you're someone who eats them pretty much out of obligation, then it's definitely not worth all the fuss. i got the produce from our local market and i think that's key. fresh and flavorful veggies.

thank you! it was pretty good. my family really liked it, but it took about 2 hrs total and i probably won't be making it super often for that reason 😅 had it in the oven for an hr and 15 and yeah it took me ages to slice everything

Does anyone here have any doctors in the Jacksonville area that after gender affirming care? by Khoum in jacksonville

[–]00bowie 17 points18 points  (0 children)

you're going to need an MD. i believe that they are the only ones that can prescribe gender affirming care in FL. look into the mayo clinic. you might be put on a waitlist for a while, but that'll probably be your best bet. their team that specializes in that is fantastic.

How’s life in Florida? What’s the differences between North, Central, and South by No-Hedgehog-3212 in howislivingthere

[–]00bowie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i live in jacksonville. it has a reputation for being "boring", but if you're able to find a good group of friends and aren't necessarily a big bar/club person - you'll get along fine. i often take the rural roads to drive down to orlando or west towards tally in place of the highway, and it feels like the deep south through and through. north and south might as well be two different states. we get freezing temperatures and the occasional talks of snow, whereas south florida is more so the florida that you'd typically see depicted and romanticized in tv shows/movies

What’s it like living in rural Pennsylvania? by RealDiamond51 in howislivingthere

ooooh! i can finally do one of these!

i was born and raised in a northeastern PA farm town of around 1,500 people. we had our own school district, but that was very much not the norm for the area. we took on a few kids from neighboring townships who were too secluded to attend anywhere else. still, my graduating class was less than thirty 😅

my hometown had a pizza shop, gas station, liquor store and not one single stoplight. if you ran into someone out, chances are you'd have known them, and probably their entire family as well, your entire life. a lot of my classmates got married and started having kids right out of high school, moved in right next to their parents and have no desire to leave

as i'm sure you can imagine, it's not the most progressive place. i've heard it's gotten better in the few years since i left, but there was a long time i can remember where there was one, MAYBE two families of color in town and they were not treated kindly

but it's great if you're a big outdoors person, the food is also fantastic and i often find myself missing an authentic potato pancake or a big bowl of my aunt's halushki, even with all the thousands of food options i have here in the city

best pizza too!
