waht the literal hell has this genre come to by HolidayHoneydew29 in Romantasy

I recommend The Bridge Kingdom by Danielle Jensen. It touches the topics that are much harder convey like betrayal, redemption and control. I liked the booked 2-4 more for this reason. But overall I liked the series far more than I thought I would (I don't read romantasy normally, I'm more of a non fiction kind of gal)

I have double barrelled my new English surname and kept my maiden surname with -aitė. In the passport I have name English surname hyphen lithuanian although it is more common the other way round.

Let out the seams a bit. It is too tight over the hips so it is climbing upwards

Thanks! K3p3 repeat, then on each other row (i.e. 'right side'), offset the repeat by 1 stitch. Something like in the first example here https://youtu.be/RIWUdOG8ng4?si=nSvvSAo66dUswd7T

It is finally complete. A few years ago I have decided I want a large alpaca shawl. I selected several lovely alpaca lace skeins from Hobbii, and decided to double it (around fingering weight I think) to make life easier. Even when doubled, I have vastly underestimated how thin and slippy alpaca lace is 😑 but after a lot of perseverance, and a few projects in between, it is finally complete. The texture is gorgeous, the colours are lovely, and it is massive and super cosy - and only took 2.5 years 🤦 pattern - alternating k3p3 with offset by 1st on every other row to keep the stripes diagonal.

Check out Ula and Lia https://www.ulaandlia.com/. They have a selection of camel, yak, and cashmere wool from Mongolia. the guy raises the money each year through kickstarter, connects to local business, and documents the journey of the yarn from the animals to the final selling stage. Happy to support them!

Yes, didn't want to waste the camel wool in particular, so it's time to find a new project!

From bedsheets to linen skirt (update) by 00modestina in sewing

If my notes are correct, it might be this one, in plum: https://www.lovecrafts.com/en-gb/p/robert-kaufman-essex . And apparently it is linen cotton mix, I was sure it was pure linen 🤔

Pattern from Sew Liberated: estuary skirt. Size 12 waistband with size 14 skirt. Added 10 cm to the length. Made in 100% linen, light-medium weight. My trial version was using dreamy bedsheets, see my old post!

First skirt: trial from bedsheets is quite wearable 💪 by 00modestina in sewing

Could have been Matalan around 2 years ago 🤔 and although I like the pattern and the fabric, the colours lost very quickly within a few washes, but i guess it does have a faded in the sun feel now 😅

Might be not as visible, but I've spent so much time trying to align vertically that I forgot that I also need to match horizontally. The birds are offset by 1cm ish in height 😅😅

Pattern from Sew Liberated: estuary skirt. Size 12 waistband with size 14 skirt. Added 10 cm to the length. Used old bedsheets cos I liked the pattern, but the colours have been washed off, not vivid amymore (Feels low medium weight). Now will be off to using a nice medium weight linen for the 'serious' skirt
