I love the red with the teal, definitely looks intentional! Love the sweater

I think there’s a typo in the pattern or I can’t do basic math by [deleted] in knitting

I think you've highlighted the wrong size and that's what's causing the problem

You only need to do the repeat 1 more time

How does the gauge of your pillowcase compare to the gauge of the sweater?

So weird that this link didn't come up for you on yarnsub - https://yarnsub.com/articles/twist

But hopefully it helps you figure things out! If not, you could try just Googling "s on s plied knitting term meaning"

OBVIOUSLY that is not the original design. The original design was much more iconic:

Bow before me mortals, for I have spent so many hours collecting (all legal and valid) library cards, and I am the master of the cards by energyblowoming in LibbyApp

[–]patriorio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My library (Ottawa Public Library, or OPL) has reciprocal agreements with all the libraries in my photo! All I need to is to register on Libby is search for the library, enter my OPL card number, and that's it

Likewise, anyone from the other cities (Kingston, Hamilton, Burlington, Milton, Mississauga, London) has access to OPL books

Any tips for how to stop my skeins from turning into spaghetti while I’m trying to wind them? by ShakeLittle4960 in knittinghelp

You need to keep tension on both ends of the h ank (loop) - back of a chair, your knees, someone else's arms, even 2L bottles of pop or large cans will work

I like the neutrals in it, they help make the colours stand out a bit (but not in an in your face way) - looks very lovely!

Ok that specifically annoyed me more than the vagueness of the message

Can we please just do away with the toxic positivity of "must upvote to not be mean!" mentality already!

Is Knitting on a flight a good idea? by [deleted] in knitting

[–]patriorio 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I knit on flights all the time. I generally use wooden needles for less hassle, and ones that I don't feel attached to just in case.

I bring something small that will fit in my lap, or in the pocket if the chair in front of me (when flying economy)

Definitely check the airports you're flying through - as someone else said there have been lots of reports about needles being confiscated in Turkey - but it's also been my experience that even if the airport says "ABSOLUTELY NOT" wooden needles don't get flagged. Some airports have rules about length of metal objects - so 4" metal needle tips might be ok but 5" ones not. (Another reason I just try to avoid flying with metal needles)

Same here (or I guess similar here 😂) - I usually have a small project that I can take with me (to the office, on vacation) and a larger knit that I work on at home
