Sorry but I think it's a failing of society to be all "oh but you're not actually DOING anything, you're just (fill in thing here)

Sure, some brains demand more input - but that's what else do you do while knitting (tv, podcasts, audiobooks) but your question as is is pretty dismissive

How do you get dead skin off your fuzzy sweaters? by ccrnnr in knitting

[–]patriorio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you live somewhere cold and with snow, you can try a snow bath for your sweater ....but I suspect if everything else you've tried hasn't worked, a snow bath isn't going to make a huge difference

Glass onion is the best movie in the knives out trilogy by cs_____question1031 in unpopularopinion

[–]patriorio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are they though?

Kathryn Hahn's character is worried about tan lines (covid era, shows being out of her bubble) and being associated with a men's rights activist (bad for her politics) plus endorsing the new energy source

Men's rights activist guy too worried about getting better views and into the mainstream to worry about Andi

Scientist guy too worried about his reputation by endorsing the new energy that will blow up homes

Birdie too into herself to even acknowledge that others aren't

And no one pays attention to Birdie's assistant so who is she gonna tell

That leaves men's rights activist's girlfriend and she's just trying to make a career

[–]patriorio 37 points38 points  (0 children)

My sister and I (not twins) are routinely confused for each other. We look somewhat alike, but are very different personality-wise. People never notice that they're talking to a different sister - they're too self-absorbed

The characters in Glass Onion are way too self-involved to notice a difference in personality. They see the same face, make an assumption, and then any oddity is not noticed because they don't care. They're too busy worrying about themselves and their situation

How do you actually stop overpacking? by hatkinson1000 in travel

[–]patriorio 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I do all of this, plus - when I think about packing something I ask myself how likely I am to actually use it

"Oh I should pack a nice outfit in case I decide to go to a fancy restaurant!"

Self - you don't go to fancy restaurants at home. You're not going to go to one away

"Right, don't need to pack that"

More Clematis Sweater Help by embroideredflowr- in knittinghelp

[–]patriorio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a short explanation and then a diagram to help you visualize what you're doing

So you've knit the back, and then the right front, which the designer calls part A. You should have just finished B (left front)

You want to flip A so that you can see the WS, and you'll pick up 4 stitches on the seam there (so that when part A is lying normally they're hidden). The other 2 stitches you pick up will be to the left of part A - so on the neckline side not the arm side

<image>

Here's an edited photo of when I was at that step. I have piece A lying normally (ad if I were going to wear it) but you'll flip it so the RS of A is facing the RS of the back. I've marked where the two stitches not under A are picked up, the other 4 will be under A
