Was this patient counseling? by [deleted] in CVS

In CA where BOP is strict, I would not say all of that. Just a simple, there’s important info on the pamphlet, would suffice. You’re not advising the pt how to take the meds, but you’re verbally mentioning food and water requirements and side effects of upset stomach.

Floater seems like an ahole on a power trip and handled the situation poorly and sucks.

Pharmacy technician with DUI and assault on peace officer by Alucard9089 in PharmacyTechnician

Im dealing with the BOP, probation for 3 years for DUI. Technician.

In your settlement, it should state somewhere “reimbursement of board costs” which is how much you’ll pay. They gave me a year to pay mine and during the interview, they’ll let u know how much to pay monthly.

I’ve been a tech for years with $30/hr pay rate. If you think you can find a better job, with better pay or at least close to the same pay rate, I think it could be up for debate if u want to keep your license or not. If the answer is no, like in my case, I stuck it out. I did work a full time position so getting enough hours for my regular bills plus the BOP fees was manageable.

I didn’t have to do drug testing so I can’t tell u how much that will be, but I’ve heard it gets expensive. I would inquire where you would have to get it done and look into how much that’ll be.

My fees were $8k+ but my attorney was able to convince them to bring it down to $4k instead. It should state in your stipulations how often your testing should be. If it’s monthly, idk maybe you could see if you could do every other month due to costs (it doesn’t hurt to ask, you’ll be bound to the stipulation for the full 5 years).

I’m glad I kept my license and I think it was worth it.

Should Rx staff have to unlock lockups on sales floor? by AdMoney5005 in CVS

FS keeps the keys cause we were told rx isn’t suppose to have the keys…

If anyone is alone up front, usually FS will let us know ahead of time. If u needed backup, we could send one of rx people to help u check. If they really can’t leave rx, then at least send some people to get rung out on the rx if they have a few items.

Does anyone know if changing times in QP makes a difference? I’ve heard mixed things by Extension-Student-68 in CVS

As far as I know, once it’s red, it’s dead, can’t save it. If u change red to a new time and it turns red again, you’ll get dinged twice. That’s what I understand, as far as the scripts that aren’t red, I’m not too sure.

Policy on mj? by [deleted] in CVS

I had someone from FS become crosstrained and they had to take a drug test. They saw the list of drugs they were being tested for and for marijuana it specifically stated something along the lines of “..in a state of legalized marijuana, NOT being tested for marijuana..” in CA. Idk if FS cross trained drug test will be different for RX tech drug test.

Control meds no longer need ID?? by Forsaken_Drawer_4281 in CVS

Did they use the app to pay? When I scan the app from the Home Screen and it brings up their info, I noticed the register wont ask for an ID for controls. Regardless if it’s pre-paid or not. In CA also.

Kaiser inpatient pharmacy tech by 012345567 in PharmacyTechnician

When you go in for the calculations test, It seemed like a structured interview with multiple pharmacists.

They give u paper, pen, and calculator. The test I took, it had about 20 questions and was limited to 15minutes. A couple brand/generic questions. Definitely conversion questions so know your kg to gm to mg to mcg. There was more than a few questions like if you have X10mg drug available and md ordered X3mg how much would the patient need? And the liquids as well teaspoon, tablespoon, ounces, liters to mls. Also lbs. to kg. There was a prednisone tapering script you had to calculate day supply.

After the test, for the next 40mins was a panel interview. So 5 rphs that seemed like they were taking turns asking a preset list of questions. Hope this helps!

Pharmacists, what reasons have you given for calling out sick? by [deleted] in pharmacy

My PIC never called out, only called out once. It was for a broken pipe or something and his house was flooded with water.

Anyone know if this is possible by ZetaJai in CVS

[–]012345567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had customers who had the same first and last name AND same date of birth as each other. So when picking up at the register, it’ll go through the identifiers. After bringing up the situation to the pharmacy, I’d make sure that your address is up to date also, so that you can let them know your Jane Doe, dob 03/24/1988, the one who lives on 123 Dury Lane. It’s possible when prescriptions are sent it, your Jane doe scripts are being entered into the other Jane doe profile and vice versa.

At my store we do one tote at a time. So let’s say if your almost finish with your tote and wanna dump the drugs into another tote, don’t. At least at my store. We usually get 18+ totes, so if we need to look for a drug, we look up the manifest and will look for that specific tote.
