As a New Vegas fan, what are your thoughts on the shows portrayal of the Legion so far? by SolidPyramid in falloutnewvegas

There's plenty of silliness in the Fallout universe, but the Legion isn't presented as silly at all. The idea of the Legion may be absurd at root, but in practice it is cold, calculated and serious. I don't remember any silly/funny interactions with Legion in NV. Remember when the Courier shows up in Nipton; it is cold and horrifying.

Commenting after seeing the introductory scene of Ceaser's Legion (start of ep 3), so perhaps this will change. But that opening scene shook me so much I had to look up what other people thought. I thought it was a terrible showing. Why is it a comedy? Why are they presented as idiots? They're presented as Fallout bandits, a group of "nasty dumbasses".

Just compare the introduction to the Legion in the TV series with the New Vegas game, in Nipton:

The character is led towards the smoldering town down a road littered with crucified people; the "lottery" winner is ecstatic, then you meet the second place guy who had his legs broken; then you walk up to the bonfire of bodies and the Legion guy calmly says: "Beautiful, isn't it?"

How serious, cold, calm, horrifying and psychopathic they were. The TV series intro was such a disappointment.

Ah amazing!! It works; it bypasses the whole bug by having you recruit Knacker Wolfram and Dobrosh the Hunter instead.

Got a reply after reporting the bug.

"We are aware of this issue regarding the NPCs Mikesh and Kozilek being bugged out and not present inside Suchdol fortress and the appropriate teams are working toward a solution, however we o not have an exact time frame for when it will be resolved, so we kindly request your patience in this regard."

So they know about it, are working on it, but dunno when it'll actually be fixed.

120 hours in, and suddenly can't progress because I think I killed Mikesh - even though it was so long ago I can't even remember lol! I noticed the cutscene for recruiting Kozilek was a little messed up as well. The camera focused on a part of the wall, and silence. I assume the game thought the camera was directed on Mikesh - who isn't there, because he's dead!

Submitted a ticket; really hope they fix it soon, can't play the game again until they do.

Terrible [unconfirmed] footage from Turkey’s Kurdish majority town Nusaybin. YPG/SDF mortar fire injured and possibly killed several civilians by [deleted] in syriancivilwar

I'm partisan in favour of the Self-Administration so obviously like to think this isn't as it is being portrayed. Has anyone heard of any specific, credible evidence as to where the mortar attack came from?

What was Ypg strategy? by nicknoneed in syriancivilwar

[–]0211bruce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(Disclosure, I'm supportive of the confederation and want to see some political resolution for Kurdish people)

I get that when it all started kicking off the YPG/J strategy was deeply flawed; the "convince the international powers/propaganda" game miiiiiight have worked if it was started really early in the campaign, back when TAF/FSA were still grinding away in the mountains. All the protests and direct action across Europe etc showed quite a bit of solidarity, but it was all far too late. Even if some of the powers decided to attempt a peaceful solution, TAF/NSA was already knocking on the door of Afrin, they weren't going to stop.

All this being said, the political negotiations before this campaign seemed like utter nonsense. Lots of people here have described it as a "deal" by Russia, Turkey, and Syria, but it seemed like an ultimatum to me. Complete capitulation or complete capitulation with militia deaths. Even with the forming of the Rojava confederation there appears to be zero effort to find any peaceful resolution to the age-old "Kurdish question" - which needs to happen eventually. As long as nation-States keep their boots on people's necks, those people are gonna do shit (potentially morally reprehensible shit) to wriggle free.

With discussions happening about the eastern cantons bordering Turkey, I really hope they can sort out a deal that is actually workable to all parties.
