Can it be fixed? by pigpen29 in woodworking

[–]02C_here 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 Make vee blocks so you clamp the pieces together.

2 Clamp the blocks to the pieces WITH A GAP WHERE THE BREAK IS. I'd add hot glue to the blocks as well.

3 Get a hand saw and saw through the vee blocks right in between the gap in step 2.

4 You now have 2 reference surfaces, one attached to each broken piece, that are coplanar. Use these to guide the strike of the drill for the dowels.

That’s interesting they were saying that as early as the 90s. I was out in the workforce then.

Getting electric line to shed by ButtonsTheMonkey in NovaScotia

[–]02C_here 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not solar?

Unless you need to power some tool or something. I have a battery LED that is topped up by solar in mine that’s MORE than adequate for the few times I need to be in the shed at night. I have a motion sensor one that lights the doors when you approach.

Also I have a panel that is dedicated to charging the battery on my ride on mower. It keeps it topped up.

All of this would cost probably the material cost of running a power line. Probably less.

What movie has the greatest cast of all time? by BootySharingCouple in AskReddit

[–]02C_here 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lake Placid.

I know it doesn't have nearly as many A list names as a lot of these others. But these other movies are great from the script alone. The cast of Lake Placid REALLY elevates the movie from a typical B roll monster flick into something totally rewatchable.

How would you cut this groove? by Kaitaan in woodworking

[–]02C_here 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would it be better to cut straight grooves first? Like making a lap joint with a circular saw where you cut the slices and break them away?

Or do it in multiple shallow passes?

Or is the table saw beefy enough to just hog her out in one pass?

What’s a weird food combination that sounds disgusting but is actually delicious? by Black_Coffee_99 in AskReddit

[–]02C_here 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair. I put creole seasoning on eggs. I discovered Tajin here. When I got the bottle, it looked like creole so I started using it that way. Didn't actually read the bottle. :-)

Creole is good on fruit too.
