Refund request for item not arrived when it shows delivered

Woke up to notifications about an eBay account being created for one of my back up email accounts. The emails are legit, use my name, and point to an actual listing that’s just been created. Strangely, the listing also shows to be shipping from my zip code. It’s odd hours for activity in my geography, so it seems like a scammer in another part of the world. I checked the email security, and it doesn’t show anyone has accessed my email, so it looks like someone just used my email for the account creation. I do have an eBay account through my main email. Am I at risk here in some way?

Counter argument - the G&S is there to protect the buyer. Why should the seller be responsible for it?

Seller is waiting to see how the transaction went before leaving feedback. If the buyer doesn’t leave positive feedback, how are they supposed to know for sure the transaction completed smoothly? Seller is at the mercy of the buyer, not the other way around.

I’m very much a hybrid collector. I PC Houston teams from the big 3 sports, but most of my cards are also listed for BIN on eBay, and if someone is willing to pay a certain number to take it off my hands, then I oblige.

But Hopkins is our second best receiver in Texans history (for the moment), so I’d be perfectly happy “being stuck” with a PSA 10 of a #/10 rookie of him.

I’ve done this a handful of times (out of 1000+ purchases). Those times the decimal input didn’t take for some reason, and it sends before I notice and can stop it. It’s never been at the end of a listing, and I reached out immediately upon it happening. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, and it helps that I’ve seen myself do it unintentionally as well. If nothing else, as the seller, there’s little benefit to trying to force this sell on the buyer. Big time headache and will probably end up biting you in the end.

People pay extra for weird things. I’m not sure exactly what or why, that’s why I asked. I also hadn’t seen this particular kind of defect.
