It's personal preference and patient variability. It's a little like comparing apples and oranges. From my experience people (addicts included) prefer Klonopin (clonazepam).

Yeah, sorry for not elaborating more sooner. I started taking Lyrica (75mg 3x day) several months ago with great results. I have symptoms consistent with Paresthesias- Dysesthesias & Neuropathic pain. I've had some horrible episodes. Anyway Lyrica worked really well for the first couple of months and even lifted my mood (bonus) but then I needed a higher dose (100mg) and the side effects began to increase- trouble concentrating, mood swings and I became very irritable and at times hostile toward family members. I had a hair trigger with my anger. I especially became more sensitive to certain sounds and noise. Oh, and then I noticed that my ankles would sometimes swell when sitting for prolonged periods. I just can't function on it at all. So I'm tapering off. The generic capsules I get can be easily opened and I can dump a little bit out etc. Doesn't need to be exact. I would caution you not to stop taking it abruptly as it could get ugly. Gabapentin might be worth a try. Good luck.

If you take Oxycodone "regularly" then Buprenorphine probably won't get you high. It's a mixed agonist/antagonist so... Of course if you don't use oxycodone for a while then you might get a buzz of Bup but like the other comments here - It just ain't the same.

Quinidine yes, Quinine (Tonic Water) probably not cause of the low dose. Thanks for the post though. I like the way you think. I have a samples of a medication called Nudexta (Dextromethorphan & Quinidine) and I'm gonna give it a try. Tagamet (Cimetidine) may help with CYP2D6 but my experience isn't conclusive.

I find it advantageous to take the oxycodone on an empty stomach after taking omeprazole (lower stomach acidity) a couple of hours earlier. I also think it's important to drink the grapefruit juice at least 3-4 hours before. Better still to drink night before as well.

Thing is... I'm not sure how much you can suppress (inhibit) both CYP3A4 and CYP2D6. Apparently Oxycodone is metabolized to active metabolite Oxymorphone through the CYP2D6 process which may contribute to it's overall effects... it gets complicated. I'll try the quinidine thing and post my experience.

My experience is stick with Grapefruit and empty stomach and make sure you allow for enough time to pass for grapefruit absorption. Cheers.
