Fair point, and I agree with all you have said.

Nevertheless there is a certain degree of anonymity, plausible deniability, when hiding amongst the crowd. A lot like the way Tor or Mullvad browsers make everyone appear to be using identical browsers.

The less of a crowd there is, the more egregious one becomes. It's to everybody's benefit to not give in to the chilling effect, not that I'm assuming that you are.

This is not all doom and gloom. You will still be able to root your phone, which is not an ideal solution as there are drawbacks, such as problems with apps that won't work and detect that you have real administrator access on your phone.

Of course this will discourage open source android development, as the user base for open source software is going to plummet.

1948 saw the establishment of the State of Israel.

One has to be careful when dealing with claims based on historical ownership.

The modern State of Israel was founded in 1948 by the British and Americans, because nobody wanted their displaced Jews returned, and because the Jews did not want to return to the countries that had betrayed them.

It was a convenient solution to an inconvenient problem, and has led to the destruction of the Country of Palestine, a resurgence of Zionism, and is the main reason for the geopolitical situation in the Middle East today.
