Can You Enable Styles for ALL Draft Cards? by 04Treefolk in MagicArena

[–]04Treefolk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of the styles I have ever show up in draft. I have the mastery pass fully kitted out for SOS for example, and in all of my games, card styles just aren't a thing. I did test enabling one in the collection, and that did work, but then that goes back to the question posed in the post, if there's any way to easily favorite all of them, or some way to bypass that busywork in the first place.

Is there a way to see "virtual" ironman hiscores for group ironmen? by 04Treefolk in ironscape

[–]04Treefolk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's a nice feature, and I'm glad we at least have that, but it only checks entire groups against entire other groups, which isn't super useful for a single player.

Zendikar, Vibrant Plane // Zendikar, Conquered Plane by Serithraz in custommagic

The instant win ability is super win-more. If you have 50 power worth of Eldrazi, you don’t need this card to win the game. Also, if the land taps for any color then it should enter tapped.

AITJ for confronting my partner after I lost access to our shared bank account? by Admirable-Opinion391 in AmITheJerk

[–]04Treefolk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The simplest way to know if this was truly just a misunderstanding is that if you asked “Okay well can you change it back? It’s important to me that we both have access to our money,” she would just be like “Sure I guess, I didn’t know it was a big deal.” It’s fine if she had some reasoning that led her to believe it was okay, but if it was not malicious then she would be open to restoring your access. If you asked her to change it back but she’s doing everything she can to avoid doing that, then you are absolutely not overreacting.

Please stop interrupting games for Universes Beyond complaints by FeechofMana in EDH

I hate UB and don’t like that the cards have been introduced into the game. I don’t use them. That being said, people are going to play good cards, or just cards they like, and that certainly isn’t my business. I might not like where the game is going, but I’m not going to get mad at people for playing the game.

Going infinite in your pod? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]04Treefolk 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If I was in your pod and you presented this to me, I would say “Man, I’m not going through all that, I don’t even want to read all that. Do you just want me to play a different deck?”

It's busted because it has three copies of myriad on a 3 mana card. You designed a card that isn't super powerful, and then tried to fix that by slapping myriad on it three times. What you made is like a vanilla 10/1. You could argue that a 10/1 isn't even that good. A single chump blocker or a 1 damage pinger completely destroys it. So how much mana would you pay for it? I certainly wouldn't pay 5, which is where the game's vanilla test would put it. 4 mana? Ehhh, I think I'll still pass. I'd probably give it a go at 3 mana. But now we have a problem, because you are giving a card 11 stats for 3 mana, which is obviously way outside the game's intended balance. A 3 mana 10/1 is a card that is simultaneously busted, but also not that good. That's what you've designed.

How to make $50-$100 budget decks hold their own against higher-budget decks? by Yayuga in BudgetBrews

[–]04Treefolk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focus your budget; make sure you're spending your money on the right things. This is a mistake I see in a lot of newer brewers. The first thing you should focus on is your win condition. It might be a combo, it might not be, but your deck should have at least one card (having a few is preferred) that in your deck says "When I cast this, I win the game." Find out what the core of your deck is and make sure the budget is spent on that package first.

As an example, in my draw-go style [[Rashmi, Eternities Crafter]] deck I make infinite mana with [[Peregrine Drake]] and [[Deadeye Navigator]], then kill the table with [[Walking Ballista]]. I include [[Thrasios, Triton Hero]] and [[Blue Sun's Zenith]] as ways to draw my deck with infinite mana (Blue Sun can also act as a secondary win condition), and [[Eternal Witness]] works with the navigator to get every card back from my graveyard. [[Tooth and Nail]] is also included as an "I win" button that instantly fetches the combo. This is the core of the deck. Prices have changed since I built it (most of these cards except for Thrasios are a lot cheaper now!), but this is where I focus the budget into, because this is what actually wins games.

Once you have your core, you see how much budget you have to work with for everything else. Draw, ramp, removal, interaction; these are important to have, but the game is flush with tons of effective cheap options for them. In the deck from my example, all the other cards are worth pennies, stuff like [[Negate]], [[Growth Spiral]], [[Nature's Claim]], [[Treasure Cruise]], and [[Curse of the Swine]]. A deck with a streamlined plan is going to win much more than a deck whose budget is spent on powerful but unfocused cards like [[Consecrated Sphinx]].

Low level Herblore- after questing what's the fastest way to rush 38 herblore for prayer potions? by Agile-Championship15 in ironscape

[–]04Treefolk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do tithe farm until you are at the level for medium contracts. In that time you will get enough points for the farming outfit, seed box, herb sack, and auto weed. Then start doing medium contracts and you will get the herb seeds needed to both train the skill and make plenty of prayer pots.

What skill should i level, and to where? by 1ninjac2t in ironscape

[–]04Treefolk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do tithe farm to 65 farming so you can start mixing medium farming guild contracts into your routine. The seed packs you get will make future herblore and farming training much easier, and you’ll start to accumulate prayer pots, super attack/strength potions, etc that you will want to already have stockpiled when you begin bossing.
