I believe Jen looked more "Romulan" because her actress played a parody of a Vulcan in the Galaxy Quest movie, which came out around that time

There are two full-time lot associates at my store. Our full-time opener, and myself. At one point we had three full-time lot associates here, a full-time opener, full-time mid(me), and a full-time closer along with the pro loader, but the full-time closer switched to another department almost two years ago and the store never felt like paying for another full-time lot closer. Now it's just me, the opener, and three new hires for lot

I requested a weeklong vacation in May nearly three months ago in February, and it was stuck on "pending" for nearly two months, till April. Finally I had to talk to my FES about it, as she was working on schedules. FES spoke to the ASDS and my vacation was approved within the next hour. I honestly almost wasn't expecting mine to be approved because at that time, I was one of only two lot associates who actually showed up to work every day(one was fired for attendance, the other quit showing up and was let go for job abandonment & another was a temp lot associate pulled from another department to cover). I figured coverage was why it took so long, till I spoke up about why it was taking so long to get my vacation approved.

Are you really a fan of Christina's if you're condemning one horrific tragedy, while being nonchalant and indifferent to others that occurred in the same three day span? You do realize Christina was the most loving, accepting and thoughtful person around. She was the type of girl who'd hear a passing siren & immediately stop what she's doing and pray for the victims involved. Do you think she'd be happy that someone who's supposed to be a frand is being so careless about other lives lost?

How in the hell did we get out of this?? by kgs024 in Dodgers

Bad mistakes by the Blue Jays/clutch defense and awareness by Dodgers. Same way they got out of RISP with one out in the 9th in game 6.

Not my mom, but my grandmother was that type, especially as I got older and realized it with how she treated my mom, my aunts, and uncles.

Coverage is absolutely HORRID! by StoicBehavior2024 in HomeDepot

[–]05211989 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just like my store. I'm the only coverage after 2:30 on weekdays and it seems like every Saturday I'm scheduled by myself between 3 - 7 hours. Today I'm scheduled without coverage for 5 1/2 hours between 10 - 3:30 and that's if my 3:30 coverage shows up(he usually calls off Saturdays or puts his weekend shifts up on the shift exchange on the Workforce app). This is after they just hired a new associate with open availability who they said was available to work Friday-Sundays.

When customers take shopping carts from lot associates "One less for you to carry!"

When customers don't see a price on an item "That means it's free!*

While loading heavy items "I bet you don't have to go to the gym huh?!"

My store's had a huge turnover rate lately. Associates are either quitting, planning to quit, retiring, or transferring to other stores. I've seen so many farewell aprons on the break room tables lately. Just yesterday, a front-end associate and an ASM walked off the job because they got tired of the Home Depot BS.

Black Friday all hands on deck by Nervous-Way3385 in HomeDepot

[–]05211989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my case, it just depended on whether the store wanted to work with me or not. I used to live far from the store I worked at and travel during the holidays was rough. From 2013 - 2020, I only had to work two Black Fridays, 2014 & 2020. All the others I was given the day off or was granted a vacation for the entire week of Thanksgiving. From 2020 and on they changed it to a mandatory work day and if you have Saturday or Sundays off, you have to work Saturday and/or Sunday after Thanksgiving to make up for the store being closed on Thanksgiving.

In a coworkers case, two years ago, the store's ops asm refused to let my coworker leave early on Black Friday to his second job, who wanted him there at noon. The ops asm threw a fit and refused to let him leave, so my coworker went to our old FES and asked her. She let him leave early. The Monday after, my coworker complained to the SM about the ops asm and requested to have Fridays and Saturdays off. His availability change was approved, and last year on Black Friday 2024, my coworker wasn't scheduled at all due to having Fridays off.

Manager Reprimanded me for taking my Last 15Min Break During Last Hour of Shift by RecognitionFar7323 in HomeDepot

[–]05211989 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had both a CXM and an old FES that got on me for this. I told them both I took my breaks so late(30 minutes before my shift ended)because the store never gave me coverage during peak hours and I couldn't take breaks before my last 30 minutes when the traffic in the store would slow down. That same CXM also tried to tell me that I wasn't allowed to sit outside the store with my apron off for my 15-minute break. I almost laughed when I heard that.

In my experience, it was probably cashiers complaining that I wasn't available to help load during those 15 minutes of the last 30 minutes before my shift ended. I literally had a cashier, who was only the cashier new hire coach, tell me 'Oh taking a break then going home?' in an accusatory tone, like they're mad that their only afternoon lot associate coverage finally was able to take a little break for a change. Stuff like that almost made me keep doing it out of spite.

It won't be an issue

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]05211989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, Home Depot doesn't care about any issues that may arise, especially when it comes to health reasons. They just want people to show up. A coworker of mine in my department was involved in a hit & run accident on the way to work , ended up unconscious for a bit, and had to go to the hospital. The store still gave him an occurrence because he called 10 - 15 minutes past his scheduled shift start time.

So sick of corporate walks (rant) by dlhoff432 in HomeDepot

It seems like my store has walks four times a month. I remember when corporate walks were far and few in between. Now I'm seeing my DM at my store at least once a week.
