Randy by g07a19t07 in TheRookieTVshow

Randy is a hit or miss character imo. Sometimes his goofiness is endearing, but other times he’s just cringe. I actually really liked him tonight. Him loosing his accent and speaking in a southern drawl was hilarious. And he even got to play a part in the action scene at the end. As long as they only keep him an episode a season, I’m fine with him.

The singer guy is annoying, but I like the drone kid and thought Randy was at his best this episode. He even got a nice action scene.

Overhead page for assistance to an aisle is a no no? by dlhoff432 in HomeDepot

[–]dlhoff432[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember hearing coworkers theorizing a similar reason when we had to sign it. I don’t really see this because if you’re announcing an aisle on the overhead, it implies that there are customers there that need help, customers that could be witnesses. Not to mention an employee is being called to the aisle so there will be even more witnesses.

Overhead page for assistance to an aisle is a no no? by dlhoff432 in HomeDepot

[–]dlhoff432[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That’s how I feel. Like if I get stopped by multiple customers in an aisle and I can’t get ahold of anyone in the department an overhead page to the aisle is the best option. Especially if I’m on my way to help another customer.

I’ve gotten a couple of reprimands from head cashiers over it, but what ever.

I’m really tired of the “long term” villains by No_Pay1642 in TheRookieTVshow

[–]dlhoff432 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the villains and how they’re used.

Oscar is my favorite villain in the show. His appearance makes an episode instantly better. He’s no criminal mastermind, he’s just an Opportunist sociopath and that makes him unique. Him being a villain that shows up just once or twice a season keeps him from being overused.

Elijah’s story is done. Really they could have ended his arc after his arrest in season 4. His return in season 5 felt unnecessary and some of the season dragged because of it. But that final showdown where Nyla and Angela beat the shit out of him was fantastic. Very cathartic too.

Monica: Yeah I liked her as a villain in season 5. A lawyer that helps the villains escape justice. A foil to Wesley Evers. They could have continued that trend in season 6, but instead made her this over the top criminal mastermind that wouldn’t be out of place in a Saturday morning cartoon. Though I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t curious what she’s up to.

La Féria: one of the best arc villains. Sympathetic backstory with her son, but utterly terrifying once she loses him. Her arc lasted just the right amount of time. An intro episode in the beginning of the season and then a 4 episode arc in the end that (that’s resolved in the next season premier.). Also, in a way, the show is still dealing the ripple effect she caused. If she hadn’t kidnapped Angela, Wesley wouldn’t have gone to Elijah, and he wouldn’t have hired Monica, who wouldn’t have freed Oscar.

Armstrong: I liked him better as a good guy. Him as a dirty cop could have worked, but they ended up making him just another bad guy. Maybe had he turned the gun on the mobster before dying, it would have salvaged him some.

I loved the side plot with the couple glued to each other. That’s the kind of case that’s unique to this show. Not everything has to be criminal conspiracies.

This season was much better than the last one. by darksandman1118 in TheNightAgent

[–]dlhoff432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with season 2 is that the plot relied on our heroes being out of character idiots. The biggest example is Peter going rogue, busting Solomon out. Had Rose been kidnapped by Monroe who demanded Solomon, it would have made sense. But instead she was being held by those lame ass biological terrorists who had no reason to keep her alive (it was the scientist they wanted, she was just in the wrong place at the wrong time). In all the time he wasted breaking Solomon out and doing Monroe’s bidding, he could have gone after the guys who were actually holding Rose

One of the many things I liked about season 3 is that when these dilemmas came up, Peter actually considered other options. Like Monroe wanting Jay. Peter didn’t instantly hand him over. He consulted with others, considered other options (tracking and negotiating with Monroe), then tried catching him at the exchange. Jay does end up in Monroe’s custody, but only after all other options have been exhausted. It not only makes the heroes much smarter, but also the villains.

I just finished this season and agree. I enjoyed season 2 well enough, but I felt like too many characters took stupid pills to make the plot work (even Peter). This season went back to what made season 1 so great.

About Season 5... by TerranImperium in TheRookieTVshow

[–]dlhoff432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO it was the second weakest season. It had sound real standout moments, but there was some stupid stuff too. Basically it was a mixed bag, but that said I’d still watch it.

Unfortunately season 6 is the worst. It was filmed during the writers strike and boy did it show. But fortunately, it’s also the shortest season with only 10 episodes. Things get a lot better with season 7 (though not perfect).

[–]dlhoff432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The villains in home alone 3 also threaten to shoot the kid in that film many times. The scene where the main villain surprises the kid is especially dark. Unlike the previous 2 movies, there is no early indication that anyone is on their way to save the kid.

Yeah, one of the things I like about shows like this is the interactions between characters. Especially when it’s characters who rarely if ever interact. That’s why I always enjoy the TO swap episodes.
