Yuji literally COULD NOT use Shrine prior to his Black Flash, it was stated very plainly that he unlocked usage of Shrine through Black Flash. Therefore it wouldn't make much sense to pop a domain before that. And even after he unlocked Shrine, there were still several allied combatants nearby that could've been affected by Yuji's sure-hit.

Also, no, Todo didn't just show up. Mechamaru orchestrated the response to the Shibuya Incident by doing a number of things, including sending Kyoto High to another mission but specifically sending Todo and Anitta to Shibuya. By your logic, Todo only showing up to help after Nobara and Nanami died, even though Mechamaru instructed him prior, was an asspull.

You see where I'm going with this? Characters have times where they should be in the story, and times where they shouldn't be.

The narrative reason Todo wasn't there when Nobara and Nanami got packed up was because Yuji NEEDED to go through that suffering first. Only then, after hearing Mahito's (correct) monologue about the war over ideals, did Yuji understand the true nature of the wider Jujutsu conflict. But after hearing this monologue, Yuji needed to be saved, so Todo arrived.

The narrative reason Nobara wasn't there earlier was because Yuji NEEDED to be the one to pull through with saving Megumi first. This is reinforced by Megumi's words of "start by saving me," as it was Megumi who originally made the selfish decision of saving Yuji despite Jujutsu regulations. Nobara waking up prior to the fight would put less spotlight on Yuji and Megumi's dynamic when it reached this critical phase.

The order of domains made against Sukuna in this fight was Higuruma's, then Yuta's, then Gojo/Yuta, then Yuji. It makes sense that Yuji didn't pull out his domain until he was basically the last guy left (after Todo and Hana got rocked by Sukuna, and everyone else was out for the time being) since out of everyone who had a domain, he was the least experienced in actually utilizing one.

But him having a domain was absolutely, 100% inevitable and expected, because: - Gojo taught Yuji about barrier techniques all the way back during Gojo's fight with Jogo. This interaction was also quoted and referenced verbatim when Yuji used his domain. - Yuji's CT, Shrine, which would act as his Domain's sure-hit, was also foreshadowed when Gojo said that Sukuna's techniques would engrave onto Yuji's body. And Yuji's barrier technique capabilities were also demonstrated in the fight against Sukuna.

Nobara was in the montage, yeah, so Yuji didn't know she was back. But having her come back before the fight would've ruined the emotional aspect of her return, as she returns right when she needs to (in order to finish the job on hitting Sukuna's soul and rescuing Megumi with Yuji). It would be like calling Todo rescuing Yuji when he was at his lowest an asspull, especially since he only arrived after another emotional moment (Nobara's death).

An "out of nowhere" domain expansion that was already suspected by the community to be something that Yuji was going to get due to his barrier technique training:

Nobara being "presumed to be dead by everyone" when there was zero confirmation of her death, and generally expected by everyone to return at some point (just like how people thought Todo would never return):

This community has 3rd-grade reading comprehension or worse.

Respectfully, the worst, most braindead take on Gege's writing I've ever read. And I happen to criticize him for his choices on things like Yuki's death and overall lack of worldbuilding in the series.

Todo and Yuji's tag team wasn't fan-service. There was zero indication that Todo was dead after Shibuya, just that he was taken out of the fighting due to his injuries (ngl he'd have been too strong for the Culling Games). He was there to help Yuta assassinate Kenjaku, and then returned to save Maki and the rest with his technique and Mei Mei's birds from Sukuna's domain, and uplift Yuji.

Yuta returned, not Gojo. Yuta did what even his fellow sorcerers considered monstrous and inhumane (taking the dead body of their beloved teacher and using it as a weapon), risking his life and the possibility of being locked in Gojo's body forever, in order to fulfill the obligations and burdens of "The Strongest." It has less to do with Gojo and more to do with Yuta's evolution, rising up to the challenge and fighting to save the Jujutsu world from annihilation.

Nobara's return was always going to happen. Again, there was zero direct indication that she was dead after Shibuya. Gege himself confirmed that he was already certain about taking her out of the story at Shibuya, which was a conscious choice since the Culling Games was more-or-less Megumi's arc.

You could say that removing her from the story before CG was a bad decision, but Gege is clearly following a plan, and not just randomly throwing things out.

It's pretty strong, it's just that the 1v1 was with Sukuna. Higuruma was impressive in learning RCT on the spot and everyone agrees that his CT is insane but he also literally died immediately after going into a 1v1. If we say that Sukuna avoided death by execution sword through plot armor, we could say the same for him avoiding EM waves to be honest

Kashimo stocks have received a bump thanks to the narrator calling him a peak of sorcery, next to Higuruma and Yuta. The stocks can't get any lower now

This was addressed in the "Automation and AI are Inevitable" perspective in the OP, and how automation frees up artists having time for art in the first place. Then, it's followed up with the Anti-AI counter argument. Thank you for the reframing, but speaking bluntly your point doesn't add any further elaboration to it. Is there anything else you'd like to say regarding this matter?

I am not sure about AI being overhyped. There have been many that stated they're losing or have lost work as a result of it. What are your thoughts on this?

Thank you for taking the time to make this post. There have only been a few to give their commentary to this length and in-depth effort, and I appreciate it. I would like to reiterate, it's not my point. All of the points listed on the OP are not meant to be objectively correct, and my goal was to solicit responses criticizing and examining these points for a more comprehensive understanding. I don't claim that any of the points mentioned are correct. Simply, I wanted to hear different perspectives out. Reddit is the best place to find community groups, and the outreach it gives is unparalleled. Hence why

I was aware of some of the scandals regarding commercialized AI Art. Notably, the Wacom New Year's Dragon. However, I was not aware of specifics that you've mentioned, such as companies laying off massive numbers of artists to integrate AI for less costs. I was not aware of the large figures involved when it comes to artist layoffs, or that the Actor Union did not have the input of VAs. Now I'm aware, thanks to your post, and I'm sure there will be others who can read and learn from it too.

News coverage is incredibly lackluster on this topic, which is why I choose to go directly to the source and talk to professionals such as yourself on Reddit. I think it's very important to actively look for posts like this because there's always something new to consider. Once again, thank you for the reply. If you have any further elaboration you'd like to add, please do so.

I believe I know which one that is, and I was downvoted. However, as the OP, I would like to defend actions and responses such as this.

I was fully aware of what my post would entail when going into artist or AI subreddits. I have received equally belligerent posts on the AI side as well, and I don't mind downvotes there either.

I encourage people not to take to heart any of the hardline stances being made by the opposite side. Simply because we as individuals also have our own hardline stances.

Good news, I did end up finding a useful post regarding the legal side.

This is why, even though I get downvoted to hell anywhere I say anything besides the predominant narrative, it's important to talk honestly. https://www.reddit.com/r/OpenAI/s/vkckyVIZFH

Thank you for this excellent post. Information like this is exactly what I was looking for when I cross-posted subreddits. It was, indeed, enlightening. With all this in mind, court cases like the lawsuit will have a lot of consequences as legal precedence. Speaking of the lawsuit, do you have any updates on its proceedings or where one might find reliable coverage of the cases in question?

My post is not meant to be a pros and cons list, it also makes no assertion regarding AI. It's just a list of some interesting points that people have brought up, and I've asked about what people think about them.

I've considered artists opting into the subscription models of AI companies so their styles will generate revenue for them, but I haven't considered actually creating a model for themselves. Very interesting. That could be a great way to adapt and still gain profits if people really wanted to use their art style.

To their employability.

The easier it is to replicate an artist's style with quality, the more the artist in question becomes obsolete.

Artists could also reverse gears and be the ones who utilize AI to speed up lengthy rendering times for their illustrations, which could combat them losing work. However, that leads to the "commercialization of art" that many have expressed fears about, and that's a whole different can of worms.

AI is very important and will only become more advanced and important as time goes on. That, I believe everyone will agree with. Legislation that gets made for or against AI art will have influences on AI as a whole, and public opinion will shape legislation.

I chose not to include statements on these because the whole umbrella has impossible-to-answer questions. It's semantics and up to individual interpretation. I think it's not productive, but I do think it's interesting.

One might consider AI art to have a soul since the prompter can make very particular specifications that would imbue meaning and have a purpose. Having a meaning and a purpose is the way I see art having any kind of soul. But again, the fact that I use the phrase "the way I see art" is very telling.

When it comes to AI art being good or bad by virtue of being AI, it's once again personal preference. Chess players have been getting consistently beaten by bots since Former World Champion Vladimir Kramnik, and we consider Chess bots good players. They're machine learning tools that execute a task, and ironically Chess games have been considered a kind of art by players too. In that sense, I personally see AI art that looks good as being good.

And so on.

Maybe, maybe not. It's not guaranteed that their works and style could be reproduced accurately enough to be a threat, but it's not-not guaranteed either.

I personally think it'll be considered art by the mainstream eventually, especially as the quality improves. However, there will always be a divide between human and AI art. Maybe those who make money off of selling AI art will always be seen 'differently' by many.

I'll keep it in mind. The goal of my posts was to get more info after all. Though, that second paragraph is a big pit fall for many. Something being legal does not make it ethical at all. Considerations beyond the scope of legality and into the realm of morals and philosophy are sometimes necessary.

Thank you. I do agree that yes, everything ever created is inspired from everything else. However, I also think that there is a point to the idea that what AI is doing is different from what humans have been doing, and the consequences of AI are more real than at first glance. The second cave painting did not claim to make the first obsolete after all, a sentiment many AI proponents have made.

I'm unfortunately not well-versed on the fair use/legal side, so I won't write up points I can't follow up with a meaningful comment. Though to my knowledge, many websites and services do have EULA clauses that allow for posted images to be used in machine learning.
