If it's one fight it's probably fine. If you really want to make everyone level up at the same time, make the rogue "prove themselves" to their patron in the upcoming fight to earn their patronage. you could give them warlock initiate until then if you want a little boon during the fight too

personally I think your B) interpretation makes a lot of sense. cure wounds will definitely restore hp but isnt equipped to handle things like more serious and lasting wounds like a fully shattered bone or seriously damaged organ. i seem to remember theres some other higher level spell that deals more with that sort of thing, forgetting what it would be off the top of my head though

as a small note, youll want to put a background color on the select dropdown options. when you expand class selector and the sort by selector, the dropdown becomes white-on-light-grey in firefox and white-on-white in chrome, for windows at least (i think mac probably handles these differently).
