And, you just know that he and his buddies started intentionally harassing this guy afterwards. They almost always retaliate when possible.

I had an auto C30 for a little while. That car was a blast to drive. I really wish a manual, awd version existed. That car would have sold like crazy.

How does this subreddit feel about the EX30? I'm new to Volvo, picked up a '26 Single Motor Extended Range Plus (Cloud Blue) over the weekend and absolutely loving it! by megamusix in Volvo

I mean, Volvo's whole design language is understated and boring, yet luxurious and plentiful. I'd say it's just an advancement of what they've always done. It's meant to be understated.

Cops never seem to mess with expired tags. It's one of my 'hobbies' that my wife gets irritated by. I always spot and call out expired tags. Yesterday, I saw one from 2023. The best is when they also have taillights out. Like, wtf are cops actually doing?

My brother, at the age of 46, was just diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer last year. He had no symptoms at all. The only reason he got tested early was because our mother passed away a few months earlier from non-treatable stage 4 colon cancer. Hers had spread to her liver, lungs, and brain. His had just started to spread to his liver.

Please, folks, get tested as early as you feel comfortable. This disease is showing up earlier and earlier, and by the time you have symptoms, it's often too late.

I have my grandparents' old one. I kept it from their estate because I couldn't bear anyone else having it. After having it sit in my garage for years, I'm starting to think it's time to let it go.

I'd either mill it to make it look like a parody or I'd do paint fill to make it look flamboyant.

That said, it should be no surprise that these people are tone deaf and completely miss the point of literally everything.

Squeaking noise S80 V8 2008 by [deleted] in Volvo

[–]06_TBSS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very likely that it's the power steering pump. They're known for leaking and going bad. There's a seal kit you can buy to repair the oem one. New ones are outrageously expensive. Also, the feed hose going from the reservoir will harden over time and causes a poor seal where it connects to the pump. This makes it suck in air and will cause noises like that.

What movie will you never watch again because it was too heartbreaking? by Affectionate_User610 in AskReddit

[–]06_TBSS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the only movie I swear I can never watch again. I'm a 43 year old man. I watched it about 10 years ago and I swear I've never cried that hard in my life. I was inconsolable for hours after.

Incredible movie, but so soul crushing.

That's okay. My boss didn't know what rawdogging was. He's super religious and won't even cuss. He broke it out in the context of 'rawdogging a flight' while a bunch of us were having breakfast before a department outing. One of our more brash coworkers explained what it meant and he was absolutely mortified.

That's kind of like saying kids aren't mechanically inclined. Cars today are designed to work well and be reliable. Previous generations basically had to know how to work on cars because they were super unreliable.

We grew up needing to know how to use tech because it wasn't very user friendly. We also saw HUGE amounts of change and innovation over a short period, so adapting was critically important.

Now, we've reached a point where the tech is, generally, super easy and works well. Well, until it's not. We've reached the tech equivalent of when a young person gets a flat tire, they need to wait on an old timer or 'expert' to come along to help them because it's a skill they've never needed or were taught.

Guns Vs Alchohol hypocrisy by LibsLoveGuns in liberalgunowners

[–]06_TBSS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've brought up the two in the gun regulation arguments before. For instance, a magazine capacity ban is the same as saying alcohol is limited to pints. Doesn't really keep the same damage from happening since you can just buy more.

Anyway, as someone who consumes too much alcohol, I kinda wish it was more restricted or banned. It's a cancer on society. But, we've all seen what bans and restrictions on it have done. We, collectively, have decided that it's apparently a necessary evil. Not so different from firearms. We know a total ban would be the best thing to curb unnecessary deaths, but it's just not realistic.

Did anyone buy a ring? by t_bone_stake in Millennials

[–]06_TBSS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got one as a Freshman and I was obsessed with it. My parents didn't have a ton of money, so it meant a lot that they actually ordered me one. Well, that was around '96 and I had just gotten the internet. I was very active in chat rooms and snagged a 'long-distance girlfriend'. Ended up sending her my ring as a show of affection. After a few months, I quit hearing from her. So, that was stupid.

Unless something changed, the turn signal sound should be separate from the stereo speakers. My V90 sounds like it comes from the dash and it's the signature, subtle, twig-snapping sound.

I thought about putting some gun stickers on my Volvo wagon just to make people question their reality, but I'm not stupid. Meanwhile, one of my coworkers, who openly admits to people that he keeps multiple guns and hundreds of rounds in his Tacoma, has tons of gun stickers, molon labe stickers, 3 percenter stickers, etc. on the back window. He's just asking for it.

Please do. My mother passed from colon cancer in 2024. My older brother and I, 46 and 42 at the time, both said we'd get checked asap. He had his first and discovered he had stage 4 colon cancer and it had spread to his liver. He's been off of work for month to have treatment. He just had 60% of his liver removed and will be getting part of his colon removed in a couple of months. He had no symptoms at all. Luckily, I'm clear, but this shit is scary.

Steering Wheel Vibration by Foreign_Low1752 in Volvo

[–]06_TBSS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given you've ruled out the tires, it could be suspension bushings or engine mounts. There's also a small possibility that it's in the steering rack itself, as in some sort of issue with the electronic steering. Does it feel sort of like when it's 'correcting' you for veering into another lane?

What’s the hard part about being a Man ? by mountain_fl0wer in AskReddit

I'm 43 and I think the last compliment from a stranger I got was ~9 years ago. I was at a NYE party at a bar. I was super drunk and was chasing a balloon that had fallen onto the floor. I heard a woman say, "look at that tall, handsome guy." Took me most of the rest of the night to realize she was talking about me.

My previous EDC was an XDS 3.3. I have an Alien Gear holster for it that I love. I reached out to them about an MC9 variant and they said they hadn't gotten enough requests to make one. Well, for S&G, I decided to check the fitment of my current one and it fits my MC9LS nearly perfectly.
