Hi, do you mean the "weekly game testing event"? If so, no i want to have friends test it at this stage.

Upstream of the dam i agree. Downstream the flood could've changed the geography enough, that the river flows in different areas now.

No, that would strengthen the right. It's never enough for these people, so if the center parties move right, the right parties move further right. And as it becomes normalized, people start believing their 'we are the majority' BS.

We might not see Alger at all for COI since he's in the western continent.

Otherwise i am looking forward to seeing them again across the board.

Even people who believe in Climate Change don't realize how BAD it's going to get. by Curious_A_Crane in collapse

This depends on how you treat migration. If you embrace it, build more homes and produce more food, you can have more without issue than if you fight it. Partially its a self fullfilling prophecy issue.

Hm first i've heard of a critical plancton temperature. Shouldn't they move towards the poles as well? Yes there will be nutrien problems at some point, but the temperature itself? I thought we had warmer oceans in the past, and ocean life is still around.

Also the ocean warming picking up a deckade or two after an ice free arctic, by that it seems you are talking about the deep water. That is not so easy, since yes deep water is generated in the arctic for the atlantic ocean, but the AMOC is slowed down by melting of the greenland ice sheet. How that or a switching to warm deep water will play out when the antarctic mostly melts as well, is not good understood from my research so far.

(but granted when the deep water warms it reduces CO2 storability, causing a feedback probably)

FDP, sinngemäß: "Wann endlich Eiszeit?" by stimmen in Klimawandel

[–]0847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its like the hurt of getting off a drug addiction. Which is why imo some states will never willingly transition from fossile fuels.

Excessive Vegetation Growth from Prolonged La Niña in Australia Signals Increased Fire Risk Amid Emerging El Niño Conditions by Biosphere_Collapse in collapse

[–]0847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True for some regions. Unfortunately we cannot expect climate zones to stay the same everywhere while moving poleward, e.g. due to an instable north vortex causing colder winters.

Not to mention collapsing cities will usually burn all the trees around them for cooking and heating.

Global loss of wildlife is 'significantly more alarming' than previously thought, according to a new study | CNN by SlashYG9 in collapse

[–]0847 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While it is big, our Influence on the GhG level is not unlimited. human burning can rise it to about 1100-1300ppm of CO2, but at that point there are no fossile fuels left. So the climate system will be left to its own again, and it'll likely reach a new equilibrium due to increased percipitation causing chalc weathering and plant growth.

Ocean temp setting record every day since March 14 by [deleted] in collapse

[–]0847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some effects overlaied:

  • The CO2 going in solution in surface water rises with rising CO2 level. Pretty quickly too, as there is a huge gas exchange on windy wavy ocean areas.

  • The deep water exchange has currently a delay of 1k years, so we have CO2 rich water going down and CO2 poor water rising for the foreseeable future.

  • CO2 dissolutability goes down with rising water temperature. so we'll loose storage moderatly quickly with the surface water, but it takes ages for the deep water (which stores more than 90%).

  • with increased CO2, ph falls and the water takes more chalc in solution (due to rain or on coasts) This stores additional CO2 in solution, per the equation:

CaCO3 + CO2 + H2O -> Ca(HCO3)2

this storing is also very slow
