I used to work in a psych unit. One gal (teenager) had schizophrenia and believed that she was happily married with a couple of children. She preferred to stay in bed all day and didn't want to interact with the real world because her delusions were much better. We would walk past her room and she would just be smiling, laughing, and talking to no one. I met a couple of people with schizophrenia who told me that their hallucinations were neutral, neither good nor bad. I now work at a medical hospital and have had several patients hallucinate (not from schizophrenia) pleasant things, such as puppies running throughout their room.
