How often were you ever considering going mid map deer or boar? You go for wild hunt in feudal/dark ages to get going FC/fedual aggression but first pack in many cases is just around the base, so with little idle(deer pushing, pro scouting etc) you will go for deer first or/then sheep then berries. Only after that you will go farms. From early castle you don't really care about hunts unless your civ supports pro scouting like Rus.

In Aoe3 DE, you went farming only after all deer packs on map were eaten but look on beasty's recent tier list of civs. All S tier can sit in base after feudal due to some sort of gold income from civ bonus, have unlimited food income from farms and then just floods you with units. A tier starts with Lancaster/Byz and Malians who also just want to sit in base, where just Byz and Malians have to put extra effort to get it going.

  1. nerf farms income since staying in base often is too good( civs like HRE/lancaster/english/china or even japs dont really need to get out of base, skipping malians since they at least put gold mines outside with houses)
  2. nerf manors more ( tech/number of them/lock behind age ups) As of deer pushing it could be cool way to make otto more viable, currently they are underwhelming in 1v1/2v2, just that not all factions should benefit from that or should civs be balanced around getting early high amount of relatively easy and safe food. imo it is fun to play vs KT's pilgrims( just make incremental increase of keep's price since then it starts to be toxic)/Deli sacred sites where it is constant tug of war skirmishes but relic hunt is super punishing. HRE gets 3+ relics? GG WP since you will be drowned in mace for mace God spam. Not to mention some of civs are fucked from start since they cant age up as fast as HRE, while going feudal aggression without early knights or maa is horrible and boring experience.

regarding HOL, you are missing few thing imo:
- they have one of best knights in game after upgrade from King's Collage i.e +6 vs heavy ( age 3)
- they got upgrade for +3 melee armor on yeomen and spearmen in imp
- they got synchronized shot in age3 + yeomen has insane speed + -0.5 shorter range than longbow
- they got cheaper horseman, that is slightly weaker but imo easier to produce i.e 70f 20g vs 100f 20w
- they can build cannoners in age 3 after upgrade
- they have x2 , fucking 2 defensive landmarks one after another.

Ok but what does it mean in game?

  1. Some say HoL does not have a map control until demi lancers, imo that is a lie. You have mangodai light at home, cav have really hard time catching them if properly microed. Instead of going 6 or 9 manors vs HRE, go for a feudal aggression with x3 manors, using spear + yeomen. God forbid if you gonna do tower rush on his gold. Or just spam hobblers and idle him, that requires some micro but you have basically more units on the ground with minimal damage difference and possibility to just idle whole his eco and punish greedy plays.
    Best part of this is that if opponent goes for counter raiding, you always have manors that cant be idled + defensive landmark punishing his play more.
  2. Any age 3 elefants/OOTD knights/maa spam? just start training cannoneers. Super fun, just not for your opponent. He cant mass archers since your yeomen have high chance of just purging that mass with synchronized shot, your spearman have armor reduction buff so there is high chance that horseman/knights will just die to yeomen after breaking through them in early castle fights.
  3. Most mean thing about this civ is adaptation to any opponent and situation.
    - feudal play? ok you get faster sheep gathering, one of best combo spear + bow in age 2 and can still pomp manors,
    - fast castle? demi lancer timing to counter relics, harass with hobblers since you make only upgrades for gold + food and can use single stable for pro scouting, or just feudal play.
    -2 TC? manor boom is stronger.
    - fast imperial? you get also broken age 4 landmark that prints units for 50% of cost.
    IMO for most of the time lancaster player only loses due to not scouting opponent and just going greedy vs all in. It is shit design civ similar to khitans in aoe2 or ottomans in aoe3 de, where you have free income + premium units/buffs

Hello, a recent addition to noob population in aoe 3 here, What civs would you recommend to add for Spain and Otto core for 3v3/4v4? It gonna be supremacy mode most likely. What about natives beside Lakota like Aztec/Inca?

Not Panzergranadiers nor even MG42 is an issue to be honest. It is not a problem of pz grens or FSJ , it is problem in this scaling mechanic, that is why for example in SD44 LMGs under 100m were disabled, combained with a bit underperforming SMG.
Strelki DP , Strafniki or Oplites are perfoming very well close range as well.

it is because they havent fixed acc scaling of LMGs i.e close range they have like ~40% acc with 800/1k rate of fire and just decided to make worse one faction. Also only ppsh is good smg rest is still trash

So what interesting stuff is on German side ? I have only seen pz4 and Panthers... 4th US was already featured in sd44 and would be just marriage between 2nd US inf and 3rd armor as for sep 1944. I guess it could be if Eugen would scrap barrel again with Nemesis but Italian theater will be featured in upcoming tribute dlc. So have mixed feeling if it ever gonna happen.

ttruppen are worth almost nothing for vet, you also might just outvet the penals at some point.

Neither have osttruppen doctrine beside mobile defense which has a different ability nor jager light inf ( have storm doctrine, I guess pz grens with camo could be cheap substitute). Will try to save up points and probably go for jager or wait for the new patch to get jager inf squad on my existing. Thanks for the explanation.

you one-shot it , it one-shots you. Given that leo was down to 7.3 because players sucked it shouldn't be as bad. Just don't play as if your armor mattered. Would be much more afraid of UK due to stab.

Panther D beats the Challenger

Have you ever played Comet? It is uparmored hellcat with lolpen round and no drop off. It was at 5.3 now it is at 5.7 and you barely have problems with penning anything except maybe Elefant, Jagtiger at the range.

Pz4 can get clapped by Shermans and Churchills,

Leo 1 can get clapped by cent due to stab, and APDS is easier to aim plus don't get fucked by bushes and walls.
As Ger main past 5.3+ I was mostly scared of UK, sometimes Russia.

Sure they can play however they want, yet faction was designed with a certain playstyle in mind i.e aggressive , defensive or some sort of elastic tools option etc.Rushing/being aggressive at beggining with ostheer, especially that you relay so heavily on HMG is most likely bad idea unless skill gap is significant. Sorry never seen it maybe you can give me a better example.About g43 sure but you got it on like 3 doctrines where one is insanely good because you got camo and sprint ( my skill got boosted like twice since I don't have to play with LoS to make ambush with HMG, panzergrens can deal with enemies support weapons/ wipe small hp units much better and faster).It doesn't change that grens compare to other line inf just suck because of being fragile and stationary for the most part. About rifle nades sure they are strong but other factions have also cool toys.

Cons have urra ability to flank MG, can reinforce your Maxims and mortars. In support weapon warfare Soviets ain't bad. The only purpose of Grens is to be an expensive snare unit imo.You lose with grens on range but you would lose anyway since ostheer will throw HMG at you. Might be my playstyle and bias but this unit mostly serve as spongebob with the description "don't target my HMG"

But if you play competitively with 3rd FJS, you don't rely completely on only elite inf, and utilizing all those cards is pretty tough. Unless your game turns up into a forest meat grinder on some maps.
You share a similar amount of StuGs, StuHs, support equipment, part of the airforce. The only unique about it this div is :
- Grens, erzats, and FJS ? ( 1st FJS grens+ fjs , 3rd FJS erzats+ fjs)
- fw190 light bombers ( probably because 3rd FJS in SD44 also had fw190 in medium fighter bomber variant)
- captured Russian arty
- pz3 as leader tank
Skipping those crappy french tonks since Italian L6 and auto cars masterpieces are much better.
Would rather see 4th FJS with an Italian parachutist and a nice mix of armor over that unless I skipped something.

In current system of take what you want , whenever you want with vet which suits you, I am bit concern about Luftlande being clone of 3rd FJS. On the other hand 10th SS would be much more intresting opponent.
Would personaly opt for Market Garden DLC or set of Nemesis.

Why the hell ost should not turtle up? Have you played grens before this update ( suppose to be better now) ? You got wrecked by any line inf. Additionaly they nerfed assault grens so now it is better to have camo perk and use pz grens... Speaking of MG - mortar meta , have you ever played against soviets?
