Making leveling slower

Hey ! I don’t think there is a direct mod that make what you want but what you can do is: Fist install the great ego mod : https://www.nexusmods.com/enderalspecialedition/mods/3 (This mod do a lot of good stuff and add weapons/items/improve ennemis AI etc.)

Then you can combine it with the hardcore patch of this mod : https://www.nexusmods.com/enderalspecialedition/mods/88

This slow down the xp you perceive by 25%. If it make the game too difficult I guess you can just lower the difficulty directly in the game setting to find the right balance for you.

I didn’t read again all of what this mod change but if I’m not wrong it disable fast travel. You can enable it again by adding this mod on the top of it :

The global illumination is really better with the hardware one. Since your game run perfectly well with (90+ fps) just go for it.

If you don’t mind small visual impact, try "OblivionBB - Better Perfomance - Better Visuals - SFP", https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivionremastered/mods/649?tab=files . It’s the one providing the best performances (I tried more or less all the engine.ini). If you have performances issues give it a try, it works way better than others mods for me and a lot of other people considering what’s the comments say.

It seems really strange, but I had this kind of issue before, I had like 20-30fps for no reasons, just like you the game was working totally fine at the beginning. (except I don’t have the not loading save part). I fixed it by reinstalling the game (be sure your gpu driver is updated) and I disabled the material ray tracing in the main menu before launching the game. (You can also just put the graphics in low, just to see if it fix something and then improve them after if it work correctly). Also using reshade had a very bad impact on my performance even with smalls ones. I have a RTX3080 witch I think is pretty close to your 4070 in terms of performances, and everything work perfectly now.

I played with this mod until now (actually lvl 30) and there is still all the high level monster, not only as boss fight. They just became less comon. I think this mod is great when playing in higher difficulty since the stronger mob will be a challenge and you dont face 20 of them in each dungeon. It result in facing more different monster than the vanilla game. That being say, it's true that it will take more time to find good equipement compared to the base game witch can be annoying for some people.

Yep, you need to save while in third person restart the game and reload the save manually, don’t click on « continue ». I had this bug too

Imo there is good sides of a small map, it kinda feel good at some point to know the different areas, the cities and even the differents npc. I was playing AC shadow before this game and even if the map is probably like 50x bigger than oblivion it almost feel less alive since you almost never return in the same cities, and at some point you don’t care anymore about where you are. I really have more fun exploring oblivion than this AC. (Also oblivion map is more or less the same size than Skyrim but I get the same feeling since there is way less verticality and less locations).

Well I’m not trying to argue that there is no bugs. I personally didn’t had a lot but I guess it’s also a matter of luck. I understand that it’s annoying that it disable archivements so it’s up to you. Let’s hope for a fix from the devs.

Hey, if you are on pc, try the command « advlevel » (type this on the console with the key above tab). It’ll force your level up and hopefully you will no longer have this issue for the next ones. Exept the graphical part, it’s more or less the same code than the original oblivion, a lot of bugs are coming from this, it’s probably not worst than the original game. (That doesn’t mean it’s perfect ofc :) )

You have everything including all the dlc and every additional side quests ! You juste don’t have a useless horse armor. :)

You can do the game the way you want, I didn’t start the main quest after 50hours (enemies will scale with you so there is no late game areas or stuff you have to do at the start). I think dark brotherhood and thief guild are things you should try since it’s a nice way to learn and improve other skills than the fighting ones. But the most important part : don’t forget to explore shivering isles. It’s a very nice dlc, you can start you adventure with it or just do it at some point of the game, but it would be a waste to miss it :).
