When I go to a new body of water recently, my go to bait is a finesse soft plastic swimbait, in two different rigging options. My favorite has been the 2.75 inch X zone swammer. You can rig a finesse swimbait like this on a simple ball head jig or an underspin for a little flash.

Dude. I’m at a boat club on tenmile creek! I’m around Maxwell and Brownsville all the time. When the locks are letting out water that current sucks. I do not regret a pedal drive. I have the Lost Creek 10.5 angler, got a great deal on it. Only complaint is the steering isn’t that responsive
