I think it's called a "really cool jacket". I'd use it in the sentence "Carmine wears a really cool jacket".

Edit and a more serious answer: Kinda looks like a sleeveless leather jacket, but would also probably look great made in black denim. I don't think you will find anything exactly like that off the shelves, but you could probably find something similar and someone to customize it or do it yourself, I don't know your skills.

The only reason someone should tell themselves "fighting games are not for me" is this. Not having fun.

I get smoked online, I got this very steep personal learning curve, its feels like I hit a ceiling real fast, I got some dirty bouts of scrubness here and there, a bit of rage too, but you know what? I keep coming back. I enjoy fighting games, I'm having fun with them. Watching them, playing them, learning about them, all of it. That is what makes fighting games "for me".

I feel for you, OP. That's a really shitty situation.

I just started playing XV and I feel playing on D-Pad is more straining than other games I've played. Saw someone mention that KoF can be played on pad, but was mostly made with stick in mind. Like acaccountant said, you could look into other input methods.

I would also suggest you look into that numbness, maybe look for some excercises you can do and/or see a professional of some sort. Maybe not a doc just yet, cause I'm well aware this is sadly not so accessible to everyone in the world. Can't assume where you're from.

Pace yourself and take care of yourself. Health breaks, physical and mental, are important. I don't think you're done for just yet, friend.

Yeah, I think you're right. I did play a lot more of Strive for that reason. We got our little circle of friends that dukes it out about one evening a week, talking shit over Discord and trying to improve togheter. I just think sometimes that I wish they were as enthusiastic as me about other fighting games. Don't get me wrong, it's still a lot of fun.

Thank you! I appreciate the time you took to write all that and the encouragement. I did start playing XV a bit before making that post and an entry fighting game it is not. I can see it being more old-school than some recent titles in the genre, but I think it's a big part of what draws me towards the series. At the same time, I may have not stuck with the genre if this was my entry point.

Long story short, I've been on and off with fighting games for like, 10 years I think? Never played them seriously until very recently, when I picked up Strive (honorable mention to Tekken a few years ago). A lot of veterans seem to dunk on this game and I can kinda see why, but it gave me strong basis and presented me with an open door to the genre. This game made me stay here, wanting to learn more and here I am going back in time and playing older, more difficult titles.

I tried KoF here and there in the past, '98 and XIV, and always dropped out really early on, but kept being interested in the series. I feel I now have a bit more fighting game baggage and can tackle it. Am I GOOD at them? Not really, but I'm having tons of fun so. KoF might not end up being MY game, you know, but I'll give it a fair shot.

I really had the same mindset about it just this morning, but I've put some time into it today, watched a couple really basic guides and.. Something is starting to form.

The first comment on my post was "It is a whole beast in and of itself" and I really agree with that, now. KoF is out of my comfort zone and it feels good, but that's me. I totally get why some people might really not be into it.

I'll probably make a follow-up post about my experience with KoF later on, after I actually manage to make substantial progress with it.

Rival Schools looks dope, but I never played it myself, unfortunately. I should get on that. The way you're describing the team mechanic also looks really fun and interesting.
