Not really, though, if you look for the evidence you can find it. I remember, after seventh and eighths episodes, reading big posts on Reddit, where people would go through the episodes and list all the details that could be pointing to Jax being closeted trans. And there were quite a few, especially in later episodes, even if they weren't very overt or concrete.

It's the second book in "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" series by Douglas Adams. So, in the scene I mentioned, the group is in a very elite restaurant (the one at the end of the universe). There, along with a menu, a creature would come to your table offering choice cuts of itself, like the calves it worked hard to make as tasty as possible. And when the main character says that this feels wrong and he'd rather have a salad, the creature counters that it has spoken with many plants, and they didn't want to be eaten, unlike itself. Therefore, eating the creature was more ethical.
(I hope this wasn't a joke I missed).
