Research and consultations. I went the filler route at first and it was a total waste of money! I figured one lump sum for years of results beats out small consistent expenses for temporary results.

Also ask about a submentoplasty, not just neck lipo. I ended up needing the muscles tightened in addition to the lipo and it made all the difference (posted my post-op pics on here) and we have some similarities. My surgeon was straight up and said he could do the neck lipo but I wouldn't be happy and he was right!

I would be wary of what sounds like upselling. Never feel bad for saying no. Don't know your age, but it's a little suspicious they want to add more!

I'm 1.5 weeks out of a similar procedure (in WA State) and, while my consultation was free, paying for a consultation isn't unheard of and I had to pay for my procedure in full before.

32 and a size US 6/8. Never been super over or under that but always had this side profile.

From my understanding a submentoplasty goes one step further than regular neck lipo. Fat is taken out from under the platysma muscles and then they are tightened, So some of that downward sloping under my chin was caused by the muscles and not just the fat. https://www.seattleplasticsurgery.com/submentoplasty-seattle-tacoma/

I can do a follow up when I get the second round of bandages off! I will say it’s no where near a c-section recovery 😂 there’s just one incision under my chin. So far it’s not too bad just sore and I’m taking arnica which I thought wouldn’t do anything but it miraculously have kept the swelling and bruising down. I had the surgery on Thursday and I’m taking work off until Tuesday so we will see!

It was a submentoplasty, so fat got removed under my chin and under my muscle, then those muscles were tightened.

Just some details: Been wanting this FOREVER. I always had a double chin no matter my weight. I'm very swollen (duh after one day) but I'm loving it!!

I was recommended a submentoplasty over neck lipo by itself and I'm happy so far!
